Confirmed as official with a GM Design logo on the rear, a few more images of the captivating Corvette from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film sequel have slid under the front door of Jalopnik.com. With the film currently in production, these images for the first time show front quarter and rear quarter views - most notably the dramatic four centrally mounted exhaust pipes below the large rear air ducts, which most likely house the car's tail lamps hiden inside.

Rumors place the Corvette as a starring role with the name simply as “Hot Rod”. An assortment of other new models from GM studios have also been seen on the film set including Chevrolet Beats and the well known Bumblebee Chevy Camaro plus the brand new Kia Soul. It is also rumored the Hummer HX concept will make an appearance as well.

Stay tuned because this surely isn't the last time we will see spy images from the film set.

Kia Soul? Isn't this movie GM sponsored? Must be the Chevy Trax concept. http://www.worldcarfans.com/3070404.001/photo1024/chevrolet-ny-small-car-concepts

The Chevrolet Corvetter desperately needs a facelift. I don't care if it blasts the Nuernburgring in 7 minutes, it looks old.

If it were my money, I'd skip the US junk and buy an R8 knowing that I'd be down a minute or two around the track in Germany that I never visit.

UNLESS, something more tempting comes along that'll be worth the fuel guzzling and bad interior...

yeah, but the car on those pics isn't the thing IMO, too wicked design, reminds me of some Hot Wheels car, especially those 4 tail pipes.

I agree, the corvette is started to looks dated compared to its European rivals.

Back on topic - damn this thing looks insane! From the looks of it, looks like an Evil Autobot (possibly.)

If you remember the AUDI R8 Future model was in that will smith film i robot in 1995 or whenever it was and then about 5 or 6 years later they built the R8 , so maybe this could be a future model of the corvette maybe 2012 ??

by Goldfinger | July 21, 2008 3:47 PM
that was in 2004 and that was the Audi RSQ Concept, the R8 prototype was the Le Mans Quattro and was shown in 2003, wasn't it?

I sure hope your right ... the Vette design is looking very dated while this one has futuristic supercar looks (but change the four ugly round exhausts into something angular to match the wickedly sexy body)

i robot? thats 2004...not 1995..

I like it alot. I dont like the rear-end alot though. Its mainly the way the rear fenders turn into huge vents on the back bumper. Its too much, needs to be toned down but this is a movie car, so any production car that would be, wouldn't be soo outrageous.

I do like the fenders though, especially the front ones, it gives the car the silhouette of a '67 Corvette. Could goo very nice from here.

Ugly!! period...

Agreed! I think a Transformer accidentally scanned some kids Hot Wheels toy. Great disguise genius! It's got that quality "Mach 5/Mach 6" look to it.

Probably another 1 of Jay Leno's custom GMs
