Last week we were treated to all the fine details and images of the BMW 7-Series, unfortunately for BMW they came a little earlier than expected after initial images leaked to the net ahead of the embargo. The official presentation had been expected to commence on the 7th July giving the unveiling a corny date of the 7th day of the 7th month, but it eventually came one day later on the 8th in an extravagant ceremony on the Red Square of Moscow.

400 international guests were invited to the event, the 7-Series was housed inside a huge hourglass hidden by more than 180,000 shiny balls which gradually fell revealing the all-new model in its full glory.

Full details and a video of the new BMW 7-Series can be found here.

Eww... most BMW's modern looks grow on me, but this doesn't seem to.

I'm starting to liking it!

the previous 7-series looks better

this just looks like a 5-series

but the interior looks like a big improvement, espcially the gear lever

If you look at the side view of this thing, the front has the aerodynamics of a brick.

...the interior is similar to the x5, x6...7series should be the pioneer in bmw's line..i still prefer the s - class ...but this 7 is much better than the previous one

from the pictures i thought it looked better than the previous model, which is ugly, but the older one has the exclusive feel and the character of a luxury sedan, in which this car lacks. otherwise i'm looking forward to see it in person, and i'm thinking of buying a 760Li to sit next to my S600L

can not compare to Mercedes S Class..

This just shows that no matter what BMW does, theres bound to be people liking it even if it means it got its design cues from a brick.

As I said. This kitch luxury car designed to be hit in east block. Where els, say geeees, shmack.

I believe that all latest BMW models look awfully in the pictures, but my God, when you see the thing in the street and, which is more, touch it - you understand that this is love... New X5 is the exception... =) Rear side doors are realy ugly in any view

I think it looks fantastic. I love the old-school sharknose. Seems like a clean evolution of the last one.

As I sad before, I expected MUCH better new 7, this one is very disappointable! In fact, the side is good, but the front with mega kidneys and the mega-ugly rear are totally... no comment at all!!! S class is S class...

Well another fine BMW, Which country does it originate from Germany or Switzerland?....Boring, yet another BM that looks like it has been designed from a swiss clock of cheese...a brick. There is only one make I can see who are REALLY at another level in design and it is a small Japanese company.....ZOOM!

I reckon the old 7-series looked better but this one still is nice. The in terior is beautiful still. Might get one to sit next to my Gallardo

by Sai871 | July 11, 2008 7:19 AM
front angle looks very average, not expensive/exclusive at all crap...hyundai can do this

by aesthetics | July 13, 2008 3:37 PM
As long as CHRIS BANGLE is still in Munich, things will continue to be AWFUL. Bad luck for all of BMW fans- me first.

It's ok but then not...front has taken on a slight Z4 look and then even looks a little like the Volvo how the leading edge protrudes the grill. The back, I feel, should be bigger in looks, curves etc diminish a car that should look big from the back! Interior however, lush!

by damianjv | July 15, 2008 12:44 PM
Nice one. I think BMW knows what it is doing. All bad comments we were heard in point of previos BMW 7, but it is successful car.

by ruttel | July 15, 2008 4:03 PM
Thanks for comforting us - the ones that feel sad about this latest outcom!! A fact is a fact: in a competetion as fierce as today's , BMW must do better to keep up it's great image. This is really sad for "THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE".
