Based on Auris Platform

Toyota have quite a simple strategy when it comes to their MPV range - take a current popular model, raise the roof a little and add the “verso” label at the end. This of course has been the case with the Verso versions of the Yaris, Corolla and Avensis. But rumours which have been doing the rounds for a while state that all three people-movers will be dropped and replaced with a single MPV plainly named as Verso.

It will be based on the Auris platform which is quite apparent in these latest shots caught by our spies and we should also see the same engines inherited ranging from the 97hp 1.4-liter entry level petrol engine up to the 177hp 2.2-liter diesel engine.

The new Verso is set to be launched early in 2009 with a debut pencilled in for the Paris Motor Show.

5+2 MPV is the most common cars here in europe. I drive Corolla Verso 2004 and its fullfill all my needs, and only use 7.0 liters benzin per 100km. (14km per liter)

You sound German lol How do I know? Well, "Europe", "Benzin" (petrol) and "liter" (litre). I like Germans speaking English :)

You know what? I'd keep the covers on the car. I'm too scared to see what's underneath...
