Jaguar XK-R Facelift Spy Photos with Better Camouflage
Apparently, Jaguar didn't like the last batch of photos taken by spy photographers of the XK Facelift so they covered the restyled front bumper fascia air vents on this XK-R more sufficiently this time. The Jaguar XK Facelift, which is expected to debut in Paris this October, will receive a restyling front bumper fascia with more pronounced air intake vents below the headlamps, slightly restyled rear bumper fascia, LED taillights and a new shark fin antenna mounted on the deck lid. Engines stay the same, but suspension gets more taught and steering feel is revised while the interior gets fitted with Jaguar’s new drive-select transmission interface seen in the XF.
I thought Jag was sold to TATA already a few months ago.....
Jaguar is not what it used to be. Jaguars used to have class and distiction that would only be found on ultra luxury cars. But now it's just moving on with the flow. People don't want class. They want more advanced technology. They want sports car design. Jaguar is just going with the flow, although I never liked this new XK. It's just plain ugly. The new XF is a different story. I hated the pictures but on the road it's quite beautiful. Indeed it's the car that saved Jaguar.
Jaguar = say goodbye, say tata.
Jaguar has taken design cues from Hyundai. Shame on you Jaguar.
Design cues from Hyundai???? This was created back in 2005 as the Advanced Lightweight Conept
what!?!? are u people MAD (the ones above me)..???? this is ridiculously beautiful... as if i'm hearing this lol this is far from being "plain ugly".. seriously have u seen one on the road or even driven one??? damn... are u saying the S-type and the X-type for example had ``class and distinction`..more like they were ugly and not jaguar whatso ever. the XF and the XK are ALL jaguar. they have design, technology, and they`re very pleasing to look at especially the XK. i never knew so many people hated jaguar lol
It is still a really nice looking car, but it appears to have lost any/all ties to the original brand name. The XK series bears absolutely no resemblance to any other jag ever produced. As potatoeater was inferring, this car is more of a Hyundai Tiburon/Mercury Cougar/Aston Martin then it is a Jag. That being said, if you look at the design for what it is rather then what the brand says it should be... The car is still quite beautiful and quite eye catching on the road.
The overall effect of the car is simlar to that of the DB9 but seriously. This car's ugly. It looks like some amatuer designer's poor attempt at making a sports car. The misplaced headlamps, ugly rear end. Even if the lights were placed properly and shaped differently, this car would've been much better.
In addition to that, I'd much rather have the previous XK. Much nicer looking and classier.
Without getting into that sell-me/buy-me who stole what, don't you think it's kind of daft to test a car when the only think you have modified is the bumpers?
And if you modified the bumpers for better air intake, don't you think it's even more daft to test it with them covered?
Jag "refreshed" the interior with the inclusion of the new shift system. Suspension was supposedly sharpened also. Who knows how many minute structural and production changes were made.
Few days ago I saw sherry red old school XK speeding away from local gas station. What is gone is gone, period.
Joe_limon makes me laugh. he just likes to make crazy posts and then does not want anyone to reply to them. The XK was the best Jag seen for a,ong time before the XF. The XK is a beautiful car and carries the Jaqyar heritage forward with style just like the XJS coupe before it.
I love the ill informed comments. The Aston Martin is pretty and the Jaguar is hideous or the designer is ridiculous. Ummm hello...the same man designed then both.
Looks like this will get the original treatment that the advanced light concept had. Possibly One square row and another outside. The interior will look great as well. I commend jaguar for getting more modern with all of there designs both inside and out

Read the article. That's what I'm talking about. Ian Callum blames government pedestrian regulations for what may seem hideous to others. And you don't think that just because a designer's had a successful car that he is guaranteed success for the rest of his life. do you?

Poor Jaguar. The prestige is gone! Ford has failed to preserve and build on it's heritage and keep it's identity intact. It's not even considered competition any longer; most would rather buy a benz or bmw. I'm glad Ford has decided to sell this company because unlike Aston Martin, they failed to see the potential for this brand. The less involvement Ford has with Jaguar, the better of it will be.
