Maserati Quattroporte Facelift Revealed
After five years on the market, the Pininfarina designed Maserati Quattroporte luxury sport saloon receives a minor facelift for the 2009 model year. Changes include new bumpers, front grille with chrome vertical slats similar to the GranTurismo, front and rear light units featuring LEDs, new lower door side moldings, and new side view mirrors. Interior receives new center console and multimedia system.
Finally, a second sporty Quattroporte S model is added. As the standard Quattroporte is fitted with the familiar 4.2 litre 400 hp V8 engine, the Quattroporte S uses a new 4.7 litre 430 hp V8 recently introduced on the GranTurismo S.
Both models receive the familiar 6-speed automatic transmission and two new shades of leather, Marrone Corniola (brown) and Sabbia (sand), replacing the beige which was previously in the range, debut on the Quattroporte S and Quattroporte respectively.
The new Quattroporte and Quattroporte S will be on sale in the UK from October.
looks a bit outdated already, but still so classy. love it.
the front design is a little bit better executed right now. great car.
Previous generation Quattroporte has an immortal design and it looks cool on road even today, almost 20 yars later. This one was already not just old but maliciously aged since birth, on a coy of "eternal design values".
I'd have to see the update in person before I make a true styling judgment. From pics, it doesn't look as organic as the original. The interior definitely needed a refresh though. Thats good! Also, I can see the LED array under the headlight reflectors, I'm guessing these are DRLs or turn signal indicators. Does anyone know if they're using LEDs for the low beam too? There doesn't appear to be a projector lens in the headlights for low/dipped beam usage.
handsome car...the epitome of bespoke Italian elegance .
Italian design? Superleggera chair by Gio Ponti or Vespa scooter, finally Lancia Fulvia and countless nuber of things around us is Italian Design beacause they still alive worth to described as "una arte di vivere". This thing is jaw-dropping fake.
Fiats not Italian? And I was just sure Turin was in Italy...
Don't worry, it's a common mistake. Very few people know that Torino is actually a small town on the east coast of Mauritius...
Irrelevant, benz_man. Maserati stays in Modena and I've heard that white bears live in north. The problem is elswhere. The design, very language of art, is used to create that make of Quattroporte is same like present a mocking of human speech, just system of voices with no any meaning as a philosophical text. In best case that design is just a bricolage, the artfictional play with ready-made structure kernels of design heritage. Who owerlooked by whom is irrelevant, benz_man... rather.
