Audi TT-RS Spied Yet Again on the Ring

Since 2005 the high performance RS version of the TT has been caught numerous times testing uncovered in both coupe and roadster trim. Then earlier this year, Audi debuted the performance minded TT-S in Detroit and most recently, Audi has taunted us with a near production version of the TT Clubsport Concept.

These latest images show a TT-S body, but like a bluffing poker player, there's always a "tell". Characteristic of the exclusive high-performance Audi RS range, this Audi TT prominently displays its wide oval tailpipes, which imprecisely fit the dual exhaust pipe slots of the TT-S rear bumper in addition to RS wheels and covered up RS brake calipers.

However, the "one RS model at a time" policy that RS series producing subsidiary, Quattro GmbH, self imposes will finally be broken as the TT-RS and RS5 production schedules overlap. Previously reported in 2007 and then corroborated by the leaked 2012 Audi Rollout Schedule document, the TT-RS hits the market in August 2009 while the RS5 arrives in July 2010 according to the leaked Audi 2010 Engine Product Offensive.

Although it is widely believed the TT-RS will receive a 350hp 2.5-liter turbo inline 5-cylinder, speculation also puts a turbocharged version of Volkswagen's 3.6-liter 280bhp V6 from the Passat as a possible candidate as well.

Hopefully, the TT-RS will finally show up in Paris this October.

VW is mending itself... at the beginning of the new TT, there was the 2.0L 200bhp and the old 3.2L V6 250bhp. Then, they came up with the TTS 2.0L 272bhp witch will probably finish up the 3.2 V6. Now this TTRS is coming up... Why the hell did they use that 3.2 V6?! It went on market for what?... 2 years?... rubbish!

maybe engine from future S5 and S4 wil be here so some tuned up 3.0 V6 Supercharged and with little more boost up it could easily have 350HP

looks like something suitable for Darth vader...very cool. I wouldn't mind commuting to work in one...but the thing about this car is if you shell out a few more bucks you can get a Porsche (Although the Quattro is a heavy plus if you live in a place with 4 seasons.)

Heyy man, the Audi with the 3.2V6 was a good one, sure the 2.0T could get easier power gains cause of the OEM turbo set-up but nonetheless the torque and powerband of the GREAT VW 3.2 VR6 based motors speak for themselves. Ild buy a used 3.2 V6 if i found a good price in a second.

Still the fattest (literally) coupe on the market today. And I don't like all the "uuh, what engine is it gonna be? we have tons to choose from!" hype. I say put the V10 diesel in it and call it "environmental" like every other hypocrite manufacturer out there. No one would buy it, but teenage fans will love it!

The 3.2 V6 makes it really heavy in the front. I hope for the inline-5 whith turbo.
