All those spy photographers who spend endless hours hiding behind bushes looking for shots of the latest models under development must really hate the Camaro. Last year GM released pre-production shots of the Camaro Coupe, now for the first time we get to see the first official shots of the Camaro Convertible.

The shots have only been released in low resolution so far after Ed Peper, North America Vice President, Chevrolet posted them on GM's Fastlane Blog. The model is still in the evaluation stages of development and it will go into full production next year, we can possibly expect its debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.

Weird how it doesn't look so aggresive anymore. It just looks like a normal Convertible. It looks nice, just doesn't really stand out.

I think that it looks like that cause the pictures make it look short and stubby. That wheels are smaller and the tire profile is higher so that looks a lot less aggressive. the concept car was the V8 model and I'm willing to bet that is is the V6 model with the smaller rims. I am glad we finally get to see a picture without those multiple bug eye head lights though.

I really hope this will be enough to boost GM profit. But, its just too pedestrian. The Camaro & the Challenger are both very clean designs, but when cross-shopped against competition...Personally, I'd take the Genesis coupe. And I'm an American!

The rear view has to suck, I guess.
