The Peugeot 207 CC is this years most popular convertible to date this year, beating the BMW 3 Series and Mini Cabriolet by 600 and 700 registrations. The new 207 CC ELLE special edition is likely to boost sales figures even further.

Peugeot and ELLE magazine organized a car design competition for the fashion magazine's readers and the winning design have been put into production. Readers could pick from several exterior colors and interior designs resulting in four 207 CC ELLE models. Namely, Glamour Mode (Thorium Grey exterior with black leather and Mulberry interior), Classic Couture (Lacerta Yellow exterior with black leather and graphite interior), Rock Chic (Diamond black exterior with black leather and pale pink interior) and finally Urban Chic (Silver exterior and black leather with bright blue interior).

All four ELLE models feature a sport body kit, quilted center panels on the seats, door and side trims, ELLE logos in the seats and floor mats, carbon leather trimmed instrument cowling and leather gear lever. Power comes from the 1.6 liter Vti 120 engine and the car rides on 17 inch Hockenheim alloy wheels.

The models will be limited and are priced at GBP 18,495.

PEUGEOT 207 CC ELLE STRUTS ITS STUFF FOR SUMMER 2008

  • Peugeot 207 CC is Britain’s favourite convertible car
  • Peugeot launches the 207 CC ‘ELLE’ designed by readers of the magazine
  • Unique styling makes this motoring icon a must have for fashion aficionados
  • On sale now from £18,495

Britain’s best selling convertible car, the Peugeot 207 CC is a trend-setting icon with bags of style and driving prowess to boot, and this summer it’s just got even ‘hotter’, thanks to the readers of ELLE magazine.

Badged as the 207 CC ELLE, this limited edition‘s unique interior styling has been created by readers of ELLE magazine as part of a competition to design their own car.  ELLE provided readers with a choice of exterior colours and interior designs, and the winning designs have then been put into production by Peugeot.

Like every good couture range, Peugeot has developed four 207 CC ELLE models, each with a different bespoke leather interior and available in four interior/exterior colour combinations to suit every style:

  • ‘Glamour Mode’ – Thorium Grey metallic with black leather and Mulberry trim
  • ‘Classic Couture’ – Lacerta Yellow with black leather interior with a graphite trim
  • ‘Rock Chic’ – Diamond black with black leather interior with a pale pink trim
  • ‘Urban Chic’ – Silver and black leather interior with a bright blue trim

The interior is also accessorised with unique quilted centre panels on the seats, door and side trims, ELLE logos embossed into the front seats, a carbon leather trimmed instrument cowling with contrasting stitching, leather gear lever gaiter with contrasting stitching and ELLE embroidered floor mats.

Unlike most catwalk models, the 207 CC ELLE is powered by more than just the occasional lettuce leaf.  Its 1.6-litre VTi 120 engine will leave others standing at the traffic lights, as they gawp at the 17” Hockenheim alloy wheels and its curvaceous aerodynamic exterior body style.  It also comes with a comprehensive sport pack including sports mesh front grille, leather covered steering wheel, body-coloured exterior mouldings, aluminium pedals and gear knob. To ensure the occupants stay as ‘cool’ as possible, dual-zone climate control with air-conditioning is also a standard feature.

Owners of the 207 CC ELLE also receive special ELLE branded leather accessories to match the cars’ interior: key ring, credit card holder, coin purse and a leather service / handbook wallet.

There is also an optional styling upgrade kit available which includes twin front spoilers, sill extensions and twin sports exhausts, to create that special look.

Christian Stein, Marketing Director at Peugeot UK, said: “The 207 CC is an iconic, stylish vehicle and by teaming up with the equally iconic ELLE brand we hope to appeal to those individuals who share our passion for items of great style.  This model extends our ‘catalogue of choice’ for the summer season in 2008.

“Running the competition in conjunction with the readers of ELLE magazine, globally renowned for a sense of style and sophistication, has enabled us to find out what colours and features the buying public want on their cars.  From this we have created the perfect accessory for today’s fashion-conscious motorists.”

The 207 CC ELLE is the only fashion accessory to be seen with this season and due to its clever metal folding roof design, it’s the only accessory hardy enough to withstand winter as well as spring, summer and autumn.

As with all exclusive fashion items, Peugeot is creating a limited number of 207 CC ELLE models, so strut down to your local Peugeot showroom now to reserve your latest fashion accessory, priced from £18,495 (on-the-road).

£18,500! Jeez Add £3,000 to that and I could purchase myself a fully loaded Mini Cooper D

Why did they even bother with the rear seats which even a midget could not get into? Not just pugs though as there are a few cabrios out there with the same issue. Why not just make the boot deeper by moving the rear bulkhead forward and doing away with the unusable rear seats? At that price I'd be getting myself down to the local Mazda dealer for an MX5 2.0 Option pack, RRP of £17,325 or thereabouts. :o)
