For the London Motor Show next month, Toyota will be presenting the “Aygo Crazy” concept car, a one-off model design for pure-driving fun, but getting behind the wheel of this car is no walk in the park. The usual driving aids most consumers are accustomed to such as power steering and ABS have been removed from this model giving drivers the ultimate rallying experience

Power comes courtesy of a Toyota's rear-mounted four-cylinder1.8 VVT-i unit which was last used in the Toyota Celica and MR2, with the addition of a Toyota Motorsport turbo conversion kit, it packs a decent punch for a car of this size pumping out 200 horses and 240Nm of torque. The same five-speed manual transmission remains from the road-going version although there is an motorsport-spec clutch from Helix-Autosport incorporated into this model. The suspension comes from the MR2 roadster and features MacPherson struts on the front and rear, the performance is further enhanced by adjustable Tein dampers.

The body has been hand crafted with a road-hugging widebody kit, the carbon fibre rear wing comes straight from the race cars of the American Champ Car series and the excellent appearance and performance is further enhanced with the 17inch wheels. The cabin has been designed by specialist coachtrimmers O’Rourke and features purpose built sport bucket seats and a full roll cage.

Despite the motorsports theme of the concept the overall kerb weight has been raised by 160kg for a final figure of 1090kg, but performance figures throws this little detail out the window with a 0-60mph time of just 5.75 seconds, top speed lies at an estimated 127mph.

This is actually pretty well done. I would have rounded the fender flares a bit more. But considering what they started with, it's a vast improvement.

1090kg? Still too much! xP

I like it a lot.

1,090kg sure is a lot, but come on... it's still light. :D

I wonder what the short wheelbase would add in terms of driving-induced excitement.

It looks really cool, they should make it in limited productions

If Peugeot won't give us a 107 GTi, Toyota will.

I'm sure this car is a better one at that than anything the French can come up with.

Thats insane, but its too bad its wide bodykit weighs it down alot, but I love it! (not the styling much)

I guess the cage adds a bit of weightiness, too.
