Anthony Hamilton, father and manager of Formula star Lewis Hamilton, crashed a borrowed Porsche Carrera GT after showing off to bystanders. Just after Anthony and his wife Linda, Lewis' stepmother, left their home Anthony decided to show off the Porsche super car by revving the engine.

Instead of wowing the people with awe he shocked them by spinning 180 degrees and crashing through a bush and fence only to come to a halt again in a children play park. Neither Anthony or Linda were hurt and no children were present in the park leaving only the extremely limited Porsche with thousands of Pounds of damage.

Anthony said: “This is my first crash in almost 30 years and it had to happen in someone else’s car. Thankfully the only thing hurt was the car and a bush fence, for which I am extremely sorry.”

this car was not made for road use initially.. i wouldnt be surprised even if the best drivers have an accident driving it..

serves him right, too bad though that the repairs will probably be covered by the insurance and if not it's pocket change for him if he has to pay for it.

Why all the ill feeling?

by bristol411s3 | June 5, 2008 3:55 PM
ill feelings because of the "showing off" element present.

He could be going at 30mph. Pressed a bit too much the gas, spun off. Normal. He did something anyone could do.

by Zix | June 5, 2008 4:56 PM
With a car like that I doubt he will be going at 30mph with the intention of showing off

by tom43 | June 5, 2008 6:44 PM
he said that it wasn't his car. anyway, what a dumbass !.. I'm with Spyshot-73 on this one. really shame about that gorgeous piece of engineering.

by loki | June 5, 2008 11:44 PM

by kimbo | June 5, 2008 7:20 PM

kind of brings to mind that famous line from a tire advert . . . "power is nothing without control" . . .

by THERENAISSANCEMAN | June 5, 2008 9:16 PM

by geza | June 5, 2008 9:58 PM

nice car...you guys still remember ferrari enzo crashing accident during movie works .a funny black guy which i dont remember his name .lost control and banged the red horse into barrier..car wasnt his either.

by andy | June 6, 2008 4:56 AM
yeah Eddie Griffith, the car was actually owned by the director of the movie, Redline, it was purchased as a tax write off, cause he purchased it to make the movie. Most of the cars were his, so when Griffith crashed it, it was at no loss cause he didn't really pay for it.

@ spyshot --- f-n hilarious. Well said.

@ zix --- "he could be going at 30mph. He pressed a bit too much the gas... he did something anyone could do." I would suggest you find a new login name. Zix will forever be known as a dumba$$.

We are talking about a porsche gt. To do what he did requires even more dumba$$ness than your statement.

'Nuf said.

You tell 'em!

by mps | June 6, 2008 10:36 AM
andy, the guy you talkin about was eddie griffin and it was during the filming of the movie red line which was one of the flops of the year

by caraddict | June 6, 2008 3:06 PM
The car has traction control.. I sell them.. It's called PSM.. its a must that you keep it on while driving this car.. Highly skilled pro's have wrecked these cars w/ it off.. I bet he turned it off to sho boat and spin the tires and this was the result.. I just got to track 2 of these in angleton tx.. amazing machinery.. The entire car is made of carbon fiber and kevlar.. even the wheels are magnesium and the clutch and brakes are ceramic..

by pt_porsche | June 6, 2008 11:09 PM
Eddie Griffin wrecked that Enzo at a celeb charity event not during a film production.. thats what made it so hilarious..

by pt_porsche | June 6, 2008 11:10 PM
Poor car! It really hurts to read these stories of rich people wrecking their extraordinarily expensive cars and not really caring one bit for it! Pt_porsche, are all GTs manual? Maybe he doesn't know how to drive a manual...
