RENDERING: Audi A3 TDI Clubsport Concept as RS3

Just as the TT Clubsport was the precursor to the TT-R, wouldn't it be nice if the recently revealed Audi A3 TDI Clubsport quattro Concept was the precursor to the RS3. Such a vehicle is certainly not possible, as we already know Audi produces only one RS model at a time and that schedule is filled for the next several years with the RS6 in production right now and the RS5 launching in 2010. However, such pessimism doesn't stop veteran member, HKS786, of WCF partner site CarSpyShots.net from making a nice computer rendering of what it could look like. By simply removing all of the distracting graphics, two-tone color scheme and inserting the big Audi mesh grille from the RS4, we can now view the car as a whole with its re-styled front fascia and wheel arch flairs.

I've always thought it was dumb of Audi of not producing an RS3 model. what a shame ! ..and why wouldn't they go for more than one RennSport model at a time ? you don't get such nonsense from BMW's Motorsport division (and that's a good thing !)...

I agree totally, I think there should be an RS version of each model available all at the same time. I think they are going to start producing more than one at a time soon which is good e.g. apparently the RS5 and TT RS next year. Still they need to bring even more out than this in my opinion. I guess that they see it as the best strategy to take.

Beautiful rendering.

I did like the two-tone graphics more though. When you pay what will possibly be a good 45K Euro on an Audi A3 you want it to look bonkers.

Why not, with the V6 3.6 biturbo...

it's really a pitty Audi doesn't make a lineup of RS models instead of a one model a time. This is a real disadvantage against BMW M.

I think they should do it. They should go ahead and build it.

Clubsport, RS3, Einstein's broom... as long as they bring this design into production, they can call it whatever they want...

...an absolute car of beauty... now, imagine it in black...

i can't see this engine not making production. BMW has the 23d engine with 200 odd bhp, and Merc with the 250 CDI engine, how is it possible that Audi wouldn't have a competing product? so far as quattro GmbH only producing one RS model at a time, i have a feeling that's a policy that won't stand too much longer to tell you the truth, but at the same time I can't see them making an RS3. why would someone spend that kind of money on what is effectively a VW Golf? (and this is coming from an A3 owner!)

Like? I love it... looks amazing..

this looks like an a3 id actually buy... audi needs to expand their rs model line and get rid of their philosophy of building only one at a time... tt rs would be so nice
