Having already seen the 5-door version of the Seat Ibiza we are just waiting for the unveiling of the 3-door version which will carry the label “Sport-Coupe”, purely for marketing purposes, and fortunately Spanish site DiabloMotor.com has obtained what appears to be a camera phone photo of an official Ibiza 3-door press image or video showing on a flat screen television. Word on the street states the second variant of the new generation series will be unveiled at the London Motor Show this summer.

Seat has already confirmed we will see the high performance FR and Supra verions but as yet there are no details on what we are likely to find under the hood, but rumours state both will get high-powered, small-capacity engines.

The good news for the new Sport-Coupe is the styling is expected to stay largely unchanged from the excellent Boganegra Concept (pictured to the right). Although the super-sized mesh grille could be reserved for the top-ranging models.

We expect to see the Ibiza three-door in showrooms by the end of the year with the FR and Cupra models following in 2009.

looks hot, but its not a coupe- this labelling every 3 door hatch a coupe is beginning to grate with me

Exactly what was on my mind. Since when did every hatchback turn into a coupe?

I pread for the Ibiza FR and Cupra to have the 140 and 170hp 1.4 TSI engine.
