The development from concept to production of the Suzuki Kazashi has been interesting to follow. We first saw the original incarnation of the concept series at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September, followed by the updated version the following month at the Tokyo Motor Show, before we saw the final concept unveiled this year at the New York Auto Show.

Now all we are waiting for is the full production version and judging by these latest spy shots caught by our spies whilst undergoing testing sporting heavy disguising hiding much of the specific details.

Power-wise, we’re expecting the base model to be equipped with a 150+ horsepower 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine, and the top-of-the-line Kizashi will be powered by a 3.6-liter V6 (with 280 to 300 bhp) mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Suzuki Kizashi will be built in Sagara, Japan and will arrive in US dealerships in early 2010, where it will battle against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Chevrolet Malibu and the new Mazda 6.
