Audi TT Clubsport Quattro Concept Set To Make It To Production

Last year we were presented with the Audi TT Clubsport Quattro Design Study which debuted at the Essen Motor Show, the low windscreen made a production version of this vehicle unlikely however there were some Audi executives that suggested a low volume model could make it to our streets. Now to confirm it could well be a reality, the folks over at Auto Motor und Sport have spotted a very production looking version of the Clubsport Quattro concept.

Instantly we see the front fascia of the pictured prototype is far more in line with the styling seen on the Audi production models, sporting some huge vents which suggest an even more powerful engine could well be hiding under the hood beyond the 300hp TFSI that was in the concept. The other notable features are the larger side view mirrors, high rollbars on the back of the seats, the addition of a brake light and the slightly taller windscreen. Although the lack of a front bow(the bar that goes across the top of the windscreen) does make one wonder if it will pass the rigid European safety tests.

Head on over to Auto Motor und Sport to see the pictures and for comparisons sake you can check out the additional photos of the concept version on the right hand side.

I love this concept car, way more attractive then the R8. I would love to see one on the streets.

That narrow windshield wont provide much of protection for the driver on high speeds, goggles will be needed. The car looks good otherwise.

This would have so much presence on city streets, I anticipate a sharp increase in stationary object-related injuries amongst pedestrians. Anyone criticizing the pointlessness of the Clubsport should probably avoid these forums, since vehicles like these are the essence of motoring.

those of you who decry this as pointless because of its windscreen (and thus presumably find a Caterham to be pointless) will be pleased to note that the prototype has a bigger screen- personally i think that this bigger screen makes it less raw and therefore more like the standard TT roadster, and thus, ironically, more pointless.

um where did the door handles go? looks interesting, but i think itd be more of a limited version, like the 911 speedster back in the days.. in any case it makes a clear statement: you at least own another 2-3 nice cars in your garage

love the interior, looks modern yet feasible. the front is a little odd though. hope thy change that for the production version. wonder what pricing will be like.
