What Would a Production BMW M1 Homage Look Like?

When BMW revealed the M1 Homage at the Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este , most World Car Fans have supported the idea of having a production version of the concept. Little later, a image of a supposed M1 prototype appeared, but it has been proven a hoax. That does not lower the chances BMW will follow Audi steps and create its own R8 competitor, based on the mythical M1. Autoblog.nl has even a clue on the name: M10, considering the engine that may power this beauty.
Although our colleagues from the Netherlands have used the name Gran Tourismo for this supercar, they later got the tip that this name, in fact, will be used for the production version of the CS Concept, BMW’s four-door sedan, in order to compete with Mercedes-Benz Class-CLS and the upcoming Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera . This is the look Autoblog.nl and its designer, Martijn Lemmens, have reached based on the info they have managed to retrieve. What do you think about it? Give us your opinion below.

In a lot of ways I wish Photoshop didn't exist. It seems too easy for someone to take an existing car and shove a corporate front end on it and announce themeselves a "designer". Real stylists have creativity and imagination as their talents, not access to a Mac and some software.

Oh no...not another member of the CARcharodon CARcharias joining the ranks of VW scirocco,Porsche Cayenne and the rest of today's cavernous air-intake automobiles , so gaping wide it could swallow the vehicle in front of it during a sudden decceleration , GULP !

The CGI photo is really ugly! It does not fit into to the BMW's Dynamic Efficency Project at all. Don't you think?

ugly as hell, looks like they were considering of making a BMW pickup truck and changed their mind to make a coupe. No match at all to the white rendering we saw few weeks ago.

The M1 Homage stayed true to the original M1. The last two "renderings" have been horrible. They look like Japanese knock offs of an R8 and a BMW. This one looks like the new 7 series hood that was posted not to long ago. The R8 is not the first car to use side air vents, so get over yourselves. If it goes into production, depending on the engine I'd say BMW will be putting some side air intakes on the M1.
BMW will not be copying the R8. The creator of this rendering has no affiliation with BMW.

ONE MORE FLOP!!! This isn't even a rendering BY BMW! Like seriously wtf! It doesn't look like the original M1, the (flop) homage, the last (flop) rendering we saw, or even like a possible M variant of the new 1 Series Coupe! Why even CALL this an M1?!?!? Stuff this I'm not even checking the next M1 related post on here because I know it will be a flop.

Really very ugly Photoshop trick, they even forgot to put the engine in the back. I'm sure that unlike this BMW will create its own unique model as usual and will overcome R8 barrier:-))))

Well, they used the CS concept as the base for the chop, considering they simply photoshoped stock photos that came out shortly after its unveiling. They simply modified the side and top of the car, and front lights and some rear detail. The rear view is horribly done, it doesn't even look like the same car anymore. Looks pretty amateur.

Gentlemen , the appropriate 3d rendering program applied herein as in other photo - realistic visual simulations would be 3dsmax or 3d studio max as opposed to Adobe Photoshop which is primarily an image-editing tool , thank you.

I'm not sure about that renaissanceman, photoshop is used often for this type of work...actually its commonplace. Especially when that is based on an existing image. And you can actually get realistic images if you know what you're doing.

omg! ppl are you blind, this is a cs concept, very short (photoshop) and a bad work of photoshop, do you think that bmw e going to let the things like this, men you dont know very well bmw :/, think a bit before writing

Are you stupid or something? BMW didn't design this. And for the rest. It is the picture of the CS concept with a modified front end. It's not an M3 front end. It's a CS concept front with what looks like an X6 hood. It's got R8-LIKE side intakes. And fyi, Audi is the poser when it comes to cars. So I wouldn't expect, and neither should you, that BMW will copy Audi.
