Redesigned 2009 Ford Focus Coupe Revealed

American Idol is one of the hottest shows on TV right now and what goes well with a hot TV show? A hot car of course. Unfortunately for Simon Cowell & co, all the world's hot cars are unavailable so they have to make do with redesigned 2009 Ford Focus Coupe which will be debut on the show this wednesday.

With such a plain uninspiring design that lacks any kind of innovation seen in the kinetic styling by Ford Europe, the Ford Focus continues to astound the world's Media (including WCF) with its continued success which saw an 88% increase in sales in April compared with last year.

For the 2009 model year, the front fascia has been redesigned with a new larger lower air intake supposedly inspired by the new Ford Fiesta and the chrome accents around the headlights have been darkened for added differentiation. Changes to the rear are even more subtle with an addition of high mounted spoiler at the top of the C-pillar and the 2.0-liter, Duratec engine now has an output of 143hp (from 140hp) which results in a slightly quicker 0-60mph time.

Pricing has been set at $15,920 and the new redesigned model will be available later this summer.

A nice car it may be, but in my opinion, buy a 3 series instead. And you don't need the top-end version for that 3 series experience. The base models are just as impressive.

sorry but I don't think the 3 series is a car of this class ?

After importing the UK format show for American Idol, the least Ford could have done was followed and brought over the European Focus. This thing looks monstrous.

And to the guy who suggested potential purchasers buying a 3-series instead, can you get new 3s for under $16K?

It's ugly as hell :E I'm lucky to live in Europe, where we have nice-looking cars. Why can't they (Ford) just make their cars look the same in Europe and in the US? They'd save money by having only one design department, the European one.

Isn't this piece of crap based on the old euro-Focus? Other than the weird but original headlights this is shameful.

Something to do with gas prices could only be the reason for a huge increase in sales! If they had the euro version the sales would be uo 2000000000% not just 88%

The Euro Focus looks pretty dull, but its pininfarina compared to this... somebody who does good small cars, like PSA or Renault should move into the USA market quick

I don't know why Ford spends time and the few of the money they have creating really good concept cars and they end up screwing most of their models. They went really low with the US version of the Focus, is just awfull and for my opinion, the WORST looking car out there. They should bring the UK version which it is a MUCH BETTER version if they want to keep the model. But the best option is to KILL the Focus program and start from scratch... is a dejaVu from what happened to the Escort!! They just don't learn or what??

If Ford has a market for this kind of thing, that's fine, but check out the uk spec focus ST.

I'll tell you why Ford's Focus sales increased.....Every person who bought a Ford SUV/Truck within the last 2 years wants out of them because of the gas prices, and since they are way upside down in their loans the only dealerships that can help them out is Ford.

If your thinking of buying an SUV or truck in the near future, heed this advice. DON'T DO IT. Rent a truck if you need one.

That's a bad design....It's as simple as that.

Cars aimed at the american market are ugly. Look what happened to the first "Bangle" 7-series. They designed it for the american market and it ended up looking like a constipated bulldog. Also, the reason why Korean cars look they way they do is because they are aimed at the American market. I don't know, maybe I'm generalising quite a bit but the greater majority of cars aimed at the american market are do need quite some work on the exterior.
