Brabus Tuned Mercedes SL Facelift Unleashed with 730hp

The new Mercedes SL class was very much in need of a facelift which the German Manufacturer duly responded by presenting a much sportier model back in January. Now come the roll of much respected tuner Brabus to work its magic.

The more striking design of the SL deserves a performance engine and what better engine than the 730hp 6.3-liter twin-turbo V12 originally developed for the Brabus Rocket (SL 600 only). The engine is mated to a reinforced five-speed automatic transmission and a special BRABUS limited-slip differential. Other high performance extras include a new sports exhaust system, a special suspension kit and the Brabus high performance brake system.

The new tuning package will now propel the SL from 0-62mph(0-100km/h) in just 4 seconds flat and up to 124mph(200km/h) in 10.5 seconds, the top speed lies at 219mph (350km/h).

The body kit was aerodynamically-enhanced in the wind tunnel to produce a striking appearance. The front bumper is replaced by the Brabus front apron featuring LED daytime running lights and high beam and fog lights. The rocker panels have three entrance lights which illuminate the floor around the vehicle. The customized look is completed by one-piece and multi-piece light alloy rims available in diameters of 17, 18, 19 and 20 inches. The interior of the SL also receieves the Brabus treatment with a increased level of luxury.

only 730 bhp? Where are all the people complaining this looks puny compared to Veyron or a milk float with a jet engine?

What have all with Veyron? The Brabus V12 BiTurbo is overdressed for a streetcar and you dream about 1001hp? About the Brabus: I whould prefer a lighter V8 (of course, the V12 is interesting, but useless) The Design is current Brabusstyle, nothing really special. Only the rearskirt with mid-foglight - looks nice

Let's do a test on a real track and get the true figures on performance and not the times achieved on Dynos. Be real and why the hell 6.3 litre instaed of the norm the other German rivals stick to. When the rivals move up closer to 6 litre Merc will go ballistic with cc's. We might even see a super charged 9 litre Merc engine. A 6.3 litre anyway bar global negative issues sounds dvelish and enchanting.

moko..agree with u moko, the previous front is better, and what's the point about this car ? this is not a real sport car yet it has 730 hp and for a cruising i will take a standard sl600

Personally i like the new styling, but the AMG headlamps make it look much better even tho its a subtle difference. This car is a torque monster, god i love the SL.

The brabus took the SL further along the line of the car, the SL was not made as a racer it was meant for top down luxurious cruising down the country side. Sure it has power and massive torque but thats more for being able to pass a tractor in your way quickly than to race down the nurburing. Also brabus is perhaps the only tuner in the world that can take a car, double its power and give it back to you with a more solid and reliable engine than it came with stock. You get what you pay for and if you have the $ and love mercedes brabus is the only way to go.

I got my SL63 last week and I love it but it will have to a special occasion, date night or just a weekend car, cause at 4.25 a gallon and it is getting about 10 mpg in town this car wil break me if I use as a daily driver, but wow what a freaking hot piece of machinery. exceeds all my dreams!!
