Rendered Speculation: Aston Martin Supercar
Ever since Aston Martin was sold by Ford, the future has looked bright for the British Manufacturer. First came the beautiful DBS and this summer will see the unveiling of the Rapide – a four-door coupe we have all craved ever since we first saw the concept back at the 2006 Detroit Motor Show.
Aston Martin are also rumoured to be working on a new super car powered by a tuned version of the 6.0-litre V12 engine producing more than 700bhp, which would be aimed at the Mclaren SLR and the Bugatti Veyron. With this in mind, Dutch designer Sabino Leerentveld has produced some renderings of a what the concept version could look like and they have been doing the rounds over the web causing quite a stir on the forums.

Very nice overall looks, just as expected from AM. But the typo at the car's rear end sucks massively and so do the exhausts. Bwah.

i think i like this....very AM. Maybe the head lights should have been a bit bigger? Back looks nice and elegant.

i agree with woo factor - larger headlights and maybe whack on some bigger rims, and this would look seriously nice. the green's a bit unfortunate, as is AMV10, but overall, nice rendering!

Not a bad looking car except it doesn't follow aston martins overall all design. Sure it has the grill and lights but not as graceful of a body. Looks to much like a bug

Hahahaha, this is what ive been waiting for. The world needs a British supercar. I say build this thing and name it the Vanquish. The Vanquish was a fast car especially the S, but transform it into a Supercar. Im glad and hopeful that Aston will do this. I also think this car DOES look enough like other astons, front grill, rear tail lights. It cant look exactly like a regular Aston because guys...If this car is built it is no Regular Aston. Think Ferrari Enzo to Ferrari F430, they dont like that much alike, but thats because the Enzo is a very special machine. Aston DO IT.

Awkward proportions.. the front bonnet is long enough to house the engine there, n the wheelbase is long enough to place the engine behind the driver as well!! :O i didnt like it!! :P

Well... that means you could use two of those mills! Which is brilliant! :D

Absolutely AMAZING... Love the idea of AM producing a supercar that actually compete with the likes of Enzo.. GO AM GO ...

Very nice indeed. The headlights need to be bigger, though! And remember ppl, these pics are just speculation, the real thing could be / will be very different!

reminds me of the xj220
by michelin901 | April 28, 2008 9:15 PM
hmm, yes it does looks like the xj 220....a bit. but it is beautiful, let's be serious. though i think it is not as..."aston martinish" as the other. i mean, the design is very diffrent and..new. it's not like the others. i would prefer a db or the dbs...or the vantage, but .....hell, good job aston. ow, one thing. why does it say AMV10 on the back? is it gonna have V10 engine? anyway, i pretty xcited that they're thinking of 700 bhp engine, i never was very fond of those 6.0L 450 and 500 bhp engines.

Well if you compare displacement to power with other Marks, Astons 6L engines are pretty good. I like those motors alot, But yea, an Aston Martin super car needs a slightly bigger engine, unless they unleash a high performance 6Liter with 600-700hp, but that would be expensive.

Yuck. I am hoping such an Aston would look a lot better than this. I agree it does look like an XJ220 and 15 years later that is not a good thing.
by bristol411s3 | April 28, 2008 10:55 PM
stunning...its like its built on one sheet of metal. smooth...
by quilla_b | April 29, 2008 4:45 AM
I think they need to change a few things to make this car more of an Aston than XJ220. 1st, make the front narrower, the grill part is too wide, it would look better if they narrow it a little, never seen an Aston with this wide of a grill 2nd, make the headlight much larger, like other Astons 3rd, they NEED better wheels! this wheel is ugly, period. 4th, I would personally prefer a sharper edge design for this car....I think it's too smooth The rear of this car is beautiful!!!

I also see a hint XJ13. Nice though!

the only question , where should i find the money to pay for if it ever sees production lol??
by moko | April 29, 2008 11:08 AM
this is the pinnacle of sports car design, striking a perfect balance between mean and sleek, this dutch guy knows what hes doing for sure. the grill DOES look good at that width, looks like its gonna swallow up everything in its way. agreed, the lights and rims need rescaling but still my new favorite, ASTON PLEASE MAKE THIS CAR NOWWWWWWW!!!
