Stretched Smaaart Car
Picking up where TV show Chop Shop: London Garage leaves off, bespoke vehicle manufacturer Carbonyte has developed a lust for transforming unlikely vehicles into stretched limousines. Since their last creation, 2000 Ferrari 360 stretch limo, the Carbonyte engineers with vivid imaginations have set their slide rulers on promotional vehicles, and what better vehicle to start with, than one known for being small.
Stretched over twice its normal length of 2695mm to 5100mm (17 feet) long, the Smart ForTwo has been reborn as a promotional vehicle targeted to soft drink makers who can brand the Smaaart with their own livery and rent on a daily basis. Outright purchase or lease can also be arranged at a projected cost of around £25,000.
Despite the obvious increase in size, the Smaaart was built using a lightweight allow chassis therefore allowing it to retain the original 600cc engine without sacrificing motorways speeds up to 80 mph.
"We think the Smaaart will make a great promotional vehicle – combining head-turning looks with the practicality of a van. We’ve already had incredible reactions on the road – the vehicle's almost stopped traffic, in fact the same reaction we had with the stretched Ferrari," said Carbonyte Managing Director, Chris Wright.
Next on the agenda, Carbonyte is also looking to take the Smaaart into the funeral industry by using the latest electric technology to produce an individual yet environmentally-friendly hearse.
