Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS Spied Update
Extreme (ad)Vantage
[Update] Aston Martin has pulled an April Fools on us yesterday by letting our spy-photographer get a glimpse of the V12 Vantage RS mule, but today we can bring you shots of the most powerful Aston Martin ever on its way to (or from) the 'Ring. Notice the multitude of airvents in the hood and the larger rear wing above the taped-up Vantage logo.
The Nurburgring in Germany is the hot-spot for car spy photgraphers, and today we have spotted what can only be the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS (Road Sport). Aston Martin's concept car has been confirmed for a very limited production run while reports about when the four-door coupe will go into production vary between first and third quarter of 2009.
The Vantage spotted has a rear-diffuser remarkably similar to the Mako Blue concept car, distinguishing the V12 Vantage RS from the regular V8 Vantage. After all, big power needs big cooling capabilities.
The Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS will be powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine, but where the concept came strapped to 600 horses, the production version will most likely have to do with 'just' 550 hp.
The limited production run is expected to take place at Gaydon, even though Aston Martin announced that the Rapide production will be outsourced to Magna Steyr in Austria insinuating that Gaydon production capacity is at, or close to, maximum. A price tag of Euro 225,000 plus is expected for the most powerful Aston Martin ever.
Well, test cars are not necessarily fully legal... In any case, most of the body is modified. A bit expensive for it to be an april's joke, don't you think?
The one pictured is. The one pictured first, on 1 April, was not the V12.
how can you know if its V12 if they are almost identical...db9, amv8, rapide, vanquish :S
hahaha. oh man... congratulations on fulfilling your stereotype.
I have come to the conclusion that german-cars-lover is an automated bot with self-predictive capabilities in some german university lab.
The is from a dane, though. And the brits came from france and germany, so this half-german anyway ;)
it's a pity they restricted the power to it. i was hoping so much for 600bhp. it would've been the first aston to touch 600. i dont understand why they used that v12, 450 bhp, whilw the standard power of a supercar exceeded 600 since....when? and now they "crusged" my heart again. anyway, i think it'll be fast, and it is a beauty.
I´m also a big fan of German Cars but I don´t think they do better things.. Just different things.. German cars are premium, british more exotics, in case of Aston Martin. But I also agree German cars have more quality, otherwise less image.. It´s relative
Of course it is V12. They are better informed than us :s

This is not the V12. Too few bonnet vents and it also shows as having a 4.3 with Vehicle Licensing authority in the UK.
Try again...
