Brand spanking new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is due to go on sale in mid-2010, but as per normal the frenzy of spy pics has been feeding upon itself for months yet. Of course WCF has been at thecutting edge of this frenzy, and with that same spirit we bring you these renderings of what the E-Class will probably look like when it hits the market.
Merc has demonstrated with their current crop of cars that they are ready for a design change. Sharper lines, more kink around the edges have signaled a harder approach to Merc, a sign that the world’s oldest luxury car maker is going aggressively at the younger market. Even their ad campaigns are a showcase of youth. Why C-Class is now sold as “your car, not your dad’s” for example.
E-Class is expected to debut a few new technologies for its segment, while existing ones including Bluetech and Diesotto, are to make an even bigger presence. Engines worn on the two body styles saloon and estate as proper, will be petrol-based, diesel-bound, hybrid-origin and a surprise fuel mix. The AMG performance version of the E-Class will for the first time, surpass 400kW/ 536 bhp.

Whats happens when a 2006 E-Class and a 2006 330i sedan have a one night stand and, oops, they forget to use protection? This thing. Overall I'm happy with the shape: wedgy, stout and muscular; but I'm still hoping the details presented in the rendering are not accurate.

pretty ugly to be honest. the light even tiny front completely doesnt match the over heavy side and back. it looks like a new kia opirus. has no class at all. dont even put it next to the A6, new S80 or BMW5.

I dunno. With what is happening to Mercedes now (although I have no idea what it is) the final product may just look like this crappy rendering which looks just like an oversized Chrysler Sebring sedan with that Bangle line that is getting quite boring. Whoever makes these renderings may be experienced in the photoshop area, but certainly not in the design field.

I really don't understand why everyone is upset by the string of new mercs. They look just like the old ones, marketed towards guys aged 60 and over. Face it, they are boring, expensive, and you need to be wearing a rolex to drive one.

hopefully the price of this is as cheap as this looks seriously... that grill looks like its bout to fall off... and the design is not for me... any previous mercedes is worth keeping than buying their newer products such as this another example... the new SL!... keep the previous gen, i saw an sl500 yesterday and let me say, it still has its good looks

If these renderings are accurate, i have lost faith in Mercs....they are going downhill. The previous E looks way better than this. Lets hope the renderings are way off.

this sucks, its really really ugly, come on, i could've done better than that, the back looks like a herse and the front looks like the c-class after a car accident, please mercedes, fix this, you've turned one of the best looking executive cars into one of the worst looking cars out of all classes. Its hideous!!!

you're trying to say that clk black series , cl63-65, slk55 , clk550, cls , e63amg , ml63 etc is for old guys ? even the non amg , sl , cl , s cls may look really good with sports package and a lot of young people in my area drive it , not sissy boys but gangsta people , russians, jews because they look solid rich and mean , but some benzes do look like for 60 year olds like e350 , ml350 , c300 luxury lol with 14 inch wheels etc , but i think this is the ugliest E class ever , it looks horrible i know the quality is going to make it look better but it really doesnt look young and manly looks like camry typa shiit

and stop whining about the e-class design, these medium-sized mb's have never been beautiful cars for half a century: theyre just reliable, safe, comfy long trip cruisers/taxis.. if you want beauty go for a cls or clk, if you want muscle get a c63/sl63 amg

If the ugliest car you can think of was modified to include all the latest greatest technologies, and could outperform every other car on the planet. You would still call it a pos because you would never want to be seen in it. The same goes with me and the MB cars.

all you friggin mercedes fanatics there's no need to bash someone for their tastes. just respect his opinion on mercedes amgs that they're crappy cars. and to think that you can get a s65 for usd 185,000, that really is a pos in comparison to a bentley flying spur (which will travel 50mph more on the autobahn), the continental gt, the ferrari f430 and a bunch of other exotics that are honestly much better ways to be spending that large sum of money. and i don't understand why people make assumptions about people for their opinions. why don't all of you just grow the hell up and stop bashing people for what they have to say about your favorite god damn car.

dude, learn to read the whole thread before appointing yourself as the zorro-man ok.. first off he said *all* mb's are aimed at oldtimers, which is ridiculous; secondly, he further stated that a 525hp cls/sl63 (not 65) amg was a piece of shit.. look, to me a tata indica or a ssangyong rexton might be a p.o.s., if you consider the aforementioned amg's are in the same league, then go ahead and have the balls to say it.. no one was arguing w/ him for DISLIKING mb's but for making these stupid assumptions.. thirdly, the flying spur is simply a modified vw phaeton with turbocharger, and the s65 is quite more powerful, so without speed limiter (factory option) it would overcome those top speed figures easily eventho trying to reach more than 300km/h with a huge luxury sedan on open roads (crowded autobahns or not) sounds stupid and devoid of maturity

Something tells me it will look nothing like this. It has nothing about it that resembles Merc design or family design cues. The rear window/roofline looks like it was lifted from the last gen American-spec Accord. The rest of it looks Japanese/Korean. Maybe this is a new Kia Optima? lol

Not sure these rendering will be anything like the production car. That being said, this rendering is butt ugly, and the real thing will probably be butt ugly as well. Who cares how much power any Mercedes has, if I can go and buy another car which is just as powerful, quicker, and WAAAAY better looking? AMG shmayemgee, this badge doesn't mean crap. M badge? Now that actually has some kind of significance...

I must agree with everyone on the back, but to be honest, no offence wcf, but i go with autobilds renderings because they have proven to be the closest over the years. Anyway it looks ok, i like the front, i think mercedes should hire back Burno Sacco. For me the best Mercs were the r107,w124,w126,r129,w140,c140, basically 1986-1995. Also, I think they should kill off the clk and replace it with a E class coupe/convertible, and also kill off the r ml and gl.

hmmmm....i really don't think these renderings are correct. Given the design initiative of the C and then the updated SL it seems mercedes have gone to a more muscular look but who knows, the E, at least for me, has always stood for enemic. if it does look like this...sigh...the front is actually Ok, its a bit disproportionate when you consider the headlights and the size of the fenders and it seems to make the front seem a lot worse than it is. If you guys remember that the SL looked a little "e"-tarded as well but when the AMG version got banged out the large front fenders actually complimented those big squarish headlights. Side wise though....they really bangled themselves to death...and the rear....i prefer the camry. It almost seems like Mercedes is having an identity crisis...

Well this site had some other spy pics claimed as E-Class like 3-4 months back. and that E-Class looked sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than this one.. it looks like M3 from the back :S.. what the helll is this ???? I hope they dont come out with this... My dad really loved that shape of the coming E-Class and we might buy it.. BUT NOT THIS ONE.. WTF

everyone on here who bashes a mercedes has never owned or driven a mercedes (in the last couple years) so they are probably basing it off a late 90's mercedes that was problem bound and was cheap...
All you haters out there, go test drive a mercedes now, and you will be supprised. Go test drive a car that has soul and a personality, unline a bmw, which all look the same, except gives you the "ultimate driving machine" but ugly... thats like someone good in bed but who looks like last years arm wrestling champion.

If thats the case, then not happening for me... but from the spyphotos it seems, that the headlight sprinklers are still somewhere in between the lights, so the cap should be wider... and we should still have 2 lights :D

Not enough good... I hope it will be better. I don't like rear end, front lights could be better too...
this seems to be accurate, altho he could do better on the quality, at least the wheels in the same size.
