Lamborghini LP560-4 Spyder Renderings

Coming, but when?

Could there really be any question about it? The Lamborghini LP560-4 Spyder is coming! When? That is a completely different topic. Considering how well the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder has done, it stands to reason that its successor, the LP560-4, will go top-less too.

The new Lamborghini LP560-4 made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show last month, and last week showed up at the New York Auto Show. The 5.2 liter V10 powered 'bomber' produces 560 hp using all four wheels to put that power to the tarmac, explaining the new name. A sprint from stand-still to 100 km/h should take you no more than 3.7 seconds, 0- 200 km/h in just 11.8 seconds and its top-speed is 325 km/h.

Taking into account the development time of a roadster (Aston Martin expects the DBS Volante will take at least 18 more months to finalize), we really can't say when the Lambo LP560-4 Roadster will make it to the market. But Luuk from Autogespot.nl (more pictures after the link) has taken it upon himself to give us a glimpse of what this Spyder could look like.

Sometimes I wonder who writes the articles on WCF. Why mention "development time of a roadster"? The LP560-4 is a facelift along with minor technical improvements and new equipment options. It is by no means a new model. Lamborghini needs to do no more than adding the face lift features to the spyder. There is no "development time" necessary.

I don't think that statement was specific for this car but all coupes going to convertible in which yes there is some serious development time like in the DBS volante. The statement merely says that it is unknown when it will be released and you are right there is not much mechanical development needed for this roadster it is more about marketing in this case they want to sell as many hardtops as possible before the unleash the roadster because everyone that has the hardtop is going to sell it and buy a roadster. It is about timing here because the car is essentially already made.
