Seven hundred horses are comin’ to town! Upscale luxury goods retailer Neiman Marcus Direct has teamed up with John Hennessey’s Hennessey Performance Engineering to bring us a stampede of 700 horses through their spring Neiman Marcus Men's Catalog. And boy do them horses look healthy and sound in that jet black!
"The Venom 700NM offers world-class power,” says John Hennessey, “performance and looks in typical Hennessey style. We are very excited about our new partnership with Neiman Marcus."

Persuaded by the thunderous Dodge Viper SRT-10 engine, the VENOM 700NM musters up a whole 700 bhp/ 522kW and 645lb-ft of massive torque. Figures suggest a 0 – 60 mph time of 3.3 seconds, 0 – 100 mph in 7 seconds and a top end of 214 mph.

A number of special kits are added to the Venom 700NM, including VenomAero Exterior Aerodynamic Upgrades and lightweight alloy wheel upgrade (19x10 inch front; 20x13 inch rear).

Sounds good to you? We thought so. Be a good boy then and put aside USD179,500, which by the look of the US dollar lately, isn’t much. Be quick about it too as only 7 are being made available. If you can make it to the New York Motor Show 2008 even better, 'cause then you can scope out the real deal in the metal.

700hp in a viper is nothing new. Hennessey has been doing vipers for a while now and between the massive death grip tires on the rear end, and the spoiler, this car handles the power nicely.

They also have the 1000 with 1000hp for like 250,000$. Biggest waste of $ in my opinion. 175,000$ for this POS? That's almost a brand new Gt2 or an R8, if you want more class you can get a continental GT for that price. Or what about buying a GT-R spec v and dropping the extra 75,000$ into it, much better than this overpriced thing.

yeah, but this thing looks more aggressive then all of the cars you just mentioned. That is their selling point, its the biggest, baddest American muscle car on the road. If you wanna talk about waste of money, "ultra luxury" cars is a bigger sink hole.

my god is this...stupendous. it is just, too beautiful. it looks great. the only thing im concerned is..can it take corners? not the power, it can take the power no problem. im afraid its not only a straight line fast car..like all of the vipers are. but...jesus it looks amazing.

Just looks like another Hennessey viper to me, not changes to the kit since that last time they came out with a upgraded viper. and for that price, I think not. who are you kidding

Can't get ricier than that..or it can?Well talking about vipers i guess it can.Just can't belive that neiman marcus after making some nice customizations to BMWs cars is partening up in this big POS.

The viper couldn't take corners with its stock engine, imagine with that.

well... you aren't supposed to pound on the gas in the corner. As I recall, vipers aren't really weak in corners to begin with, probably something to do with its massive tires. Once you get a modified viper, it's called throttle control, good drivers know not to pin it in the corners.

aren't these things death traps? and sorry joe, they really can't take corners, anything with that much power deserves a mid-engine layout and moving batteries don't really count.

It is a mid engine, front mounted like the McLaren SLR. But i think they didn't really balance it well enough.
