Concept cars with all of their high-tech gadgetry, translucent paint jobs and retina piercing LED packages typically get stripped of all of this geeky goodness by the time they're ready for market launch, and the Vision GLK Freeside is no different. However, the second GLK concept variant known as the Vision GLK Townside stays true. Judging by these latest spy photos of the production version going through its paces, the flashy LED fog lamps get tossed in the bin while the front and rear bumpers plus the grille get minor design changes. Perhaps no major revelations here for some of you militant Mercedes fans, but check out the black on red color scheme. Works for me!

Production in the US begins January 2009.

That'd be a pity, unless they got relocated elsewhere (leds), I mean, even cheap koreans wear them so far. Otherwise, not being a big fan of flashy red cars, I admit it suits this benz pretty well (just like the C-Class).

I totally agree with you. But the movie isn't out yet, so it couldn't be consider it has debuted. But we all have seen the concept, and I am sure it is very similar to the concept. I wonder why car firms these days do this. Like the X6 its concept was exactly the same as the actual car.

It's better this way than displaying some spaceship on wheels and then rub on the publics face a production pile of junk with just the name in common, as some us/asian manufacturers do
