Lamborghini's secret LP560-4 breaks cover at Geneva
Filed Under: Lamborghini
Lamborghini have released intimate details of their new super-focused Gallardo LP560-4 which is being shown at the Geneva International Motor Show. The heat-seeking Lambo uses a 5.2-litre V10 bomber whose power figures point to future performance models in the Volkswagen Group. Never mind that; it’s still too far up ahead. For today the Gallardo LP560-4 uses a dry-sump V10 angled at 90 degrees for its duties. Compression ratio is 12.5:1. The thing spews out 412kW (560ps), attained at a dizzy 8000rpm. Torque is pegged at 540Nm. Sprint times read like 3.7 seconds 0 – 100 km/h, 11.8 seconds 0 – 200km/h and top speed is 325km/h. Gallardo has truly lost its respect for big brother Murciélago.
Along with its optional 6-speed e-gear sequential gearbox which can be changed via paddleshift stalks, LP560-4 uses a 4WD Viscous Traction system to plant power on the road via Pirelli Pzero 235/35 ZR 19 – 295/30 ZR 19 front and rear tyres, plus a rear diff with 45 percent limited slip. That it is lighter helps a great deal as well. It is said that gear changes now happen 40 percent quicker than ever. Fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber which improves efficiency across the whole engine speed range. The 90 litre fuel tank is good for an average consumption figure of 14 litres per 100km.
LP560-4 uses aluminium double wishbones, and its springs and shocks adjusted tighter for much better grip, resulting in a car quite highly strung, but yet very drivable under everyday conditions. And for those conditions where other cars on the road don’t quite judge its velocity well enough, Lambo has fitted Brembo brakes that boast four calipers at the rear. Carbon ceramic brakes are available as an extra.
Lamborghini’s have now entered the new century, therefore creature comforts previously unheard of in a Lambo can be found. Such goodies include the Multimedia System with USB connector, LED daytime running lights, Bluetooth and TV system. The cars can be personalized to suit individuals such that no two are exactly the same, a very crucial consideration at this level of buyer.
now that`s a real F430 Scuderia killer, well Supperleggera could do it too but this is the right option!
Superb machine, and available with manual box! Hopefully the wheel isnt off centered in respect to the pedals, as it's often been the case with Lambo's. How about gearchange times for the robotized tranny? Reventón leds in the back gives the final touch.
So does this mean the LP560-4 desgin, I'm looking mainly at the head lamps and tail lamps, will be on the updated lambo gallardo 20XX??.....love the whole rear, difuser exhaust and those phat 295/30 19's. Uh oh I just drueled on my keyboard :-)
the disapinting thing about Lambo its it don`t have many cars...as Aston, you always look the same design in all cars. Im not saying its bad just.....well you know
Wow the reventon front end is killer, the shortened headlights make it look more aggressive, the interior is just as amazing as the R8 but more exquisite. Absolutely stunning.
Excellent!! Nice touches!!! This is heaps better than the Gallardo
just came to thought...LP560-4 is missing one thing in order to keep up with lambo traditions, where's the scissor doors? COME ONE...LAMBO DOORS COMPLETE THE CAR, thats why they are called "LAMBO DOORS"
I thought they will get rid of the Audi interior but sadly they didn't...
Bellisima! A great set of subtle updates which allow this car to look far more contemporary.
i love their recent stealth-fighter style design + the predator style rear lights :) The rims are also fantastic. One thing they've forgot to change is the audi navigation.
it`s almost a fact . original lambos are much more beautiful than facelifted versions and this one is not an exeption .
holy... audi r8 ish lights in the back... reventon curves... more power... GOOD looking rims??? VERY nice update lambo!! respect and give me one right now :P that is SO nice
MARG when they launched the LP640 to replace the murcielago I told myslef the same, but moments later I realized that Its just a matter of guetting used to the new design, as for now I think the LP640 Its a better looking car overall - If not awesome looking - than the previous murcielago.Same thing happens here, altho I dont need to get used to It because I already love It.
Meh. I would still prefer a Caterham Superlight R500.
...but i definitely wouldn't complain if someone gave one to me...
what about a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Superleggera?

sweet, I never was to fond of the gallardo, but give it the murcielago accents and it is a really nice looking car.
