With news that Noble has put its plans for a M12 GTC on the back-burner, UK-based Salica Cars have presented Noble owners with the opportunity to convert their existing M12s using one of the company’s bespoke conversions.

Using new body panels, an overhauled engine and a convertible roof, the conversion offers a new cabin, new intercooler and radiators, slightly tweaked aerodynamics and a new front end that incorporates a luggage compartment. The roof itself is removed completely and replaced with a one-piece lightweight removable option that stows under the rear clamshell. With prices starting at £17,500 this could be prove to a popular option for those owners wanting to update their cars, repair crash damage or create something unique.

With conversions already underway, the next step in Salica’s plan is to offer ‘turnkey’ cars based on Noble M12 underpinnings but using their own bodywork from converted cars. The project, called the Salica GT, uses a stiffer space-frame chassis mated to a longitudinally-mounted three-litre, twin-turbocharged, dry-sumped V6 to produce around 460bhp. With reductions in weight gained from the use of GRP and carbon fibre bodypanels, and repositioning the engine to improve the centre of gravity, body roll should be minimised to ensure maximum grip and exceptional handling capabilities.

The full £55,000 car will also include a six-speed transaxle gearbox, AP Racing brakes and Salica GT seats trimmed in Alcantara in the colour of your choice.

Salica hopes to have a finished example of the GT ready for August 2008.
