Just one day after Honda unveils its all-new Honda Inspire (aka Honda Accord) for the Japanese market, famous Honda tuning firm, Mugen, which was formed by the son of Honda Motor Company founder, Soichiro Honda, present their tuning package for the upmarket targeted sedan. Consisting of the usual body kit components, front and rear bumper fascias, side skirts, grille and rear deck spoiler the Mugen Inspire also receives strut assemblies, brake rotors/calipers and stainless steel cat-back exhaust mid-pipe with dual mufflers. The Mugen Inspire will make its public debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon tuning show in Makuhari this January.

Not attractive, Evo wing, and ford fusion grill. This is a week attempt by Mugen hopefully the numbers make up for it

Ugly, and probably will cost as much as a GT-R.. But it's a ricer's dream.

Wow... the discs aren't even drilled? I think it look alright for a fast Accord. Overall, the details seem well thought out, and I am glad to see that the lower body cladding between the wheels does not have that common and lame two-piece set up, which I think looks cheap and traps dirt. The Accord is a good machine, and the interior is a lot nicer than even a new EVO, but overall, it looks a bit like a standard makeover. Where are the hood scoops, the blown headers, etc? That said, I would drive it... for free.

Peace!

Man, that's ugly but then again, the new Accord/Inspire is pretty homely.

Get rid of the spoilers!!! They look too brash. Mugen needs to have a look at the C63 AMG.

the new accord is not sporty enough to have that kind of bodykit and wing, does not fit with the body design, the new accord is perfect with elegance body kit

I specially hated those window deflectors. Unfortunatelly it's very commom in Japan and also here in Brazil.

Yes, yes, it's a bit of a copy of a lot of different existing designs, but who cares, it's a Honda that (for once) doesn't make you throw up a little bit in your mouth when you look at it. In fact, even though I don't generally like Hondas that much, I'd go as far as saying this car's very good-looking. Gotta give credit where it's due; yes, that spoiler goes way too far and apparently Mugen just can't help but turn the car into a ricecake on wheels, but I think I still wouldn't mind driving a car like this (after ditching the tastelessly massive spoiler). Oh, and slightly bigger wheels would probably make it look better too....

LOL!!! Too true man, this one does NOT make me 'throw up a little bit in my mouth' when I look at it... that cracked me up!

Peace!

Personally I think their design isn't that much worse than their engineering.... They're good at engineering (and more importantly, observing and learning from others and then mass-manufacturing), and when they really try to do a good job they can design some good-looking cars too.... I don't know if the Inspire was Japanese-designed, but it's not a bad looking car - it's just a tiny bit dull. The Mugen concept here tries to spice it up a bit and ends up adding TOO MUCH spice.... They just need to find a nice balance....
