Ford Mustang Facelift Spied Again
Pony for the next decade
Convertible spied
Ford is readying a facelift for its Mustang range which is set for a 2009 or 2010 unveiling while Dodge is getting ready (and building tension) to launch their own 'classic' new muscle car.
The facelift comes mid-cycle for the pony muscle car, and judging from the amount of camouflage the facelift will consist of an entirely new front and rear fascia, including new grille, headlamps and taillights. But despite early hopes, it now seems unlikely that Ford has had much inspiration from the Giugiaro Mustang.
The interior will be touched up as well, but the spyphotographer who accidentally ran into this prototype while making a U-turn was unable to capture proof of this on (digital) film.

The headlights are seeming to be the same. Hopefully they put some good engines like a v 10

Until they get ready of the damn live axle in the back i won't touch one of these things..even if they make it look better

I agree. If Ford had continued developing an IRS for this Mustang instead of rushing it to market with the live-axle, they would now have a cheap architecture to spawn a competitive RWD sedan for Lincoln.

I think they should do something with the roof line and allow for more room in the back, the back seats are ridiculously small, im 5'11" and when i get in the driver's seat its 3" from touching the rear bench which makes that seat pointless. In my opinion either make it a 2 seater or fix the damn back seats, no point in adding extra weight for seats you can't use.

It looks shorter through the nose. For some reason, I think it has more 03/04 Cobra influence in it. Probably because of the bulge in the hood. Perhaps, they're sharpening up the Mustang. Having seen all three in person, the Challenger isn't much competition to either the Camaro or Mustang at this point. We'll see with this updated Mustang and the upcoming SRT8.
