Since the last batch of V-Series spy photos back in September, some new spy photos of the BMW crossover variant dubbed Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS) have emerged from our neighbors to the left, Sweden's AutoMotorSport.se. In addition to the spy photos, AMS Sweden also has a couple of interesting computer renderings from Schulte-Design of what the vehicle could look like. Check them out.

The Gran Turismo model based on the CS Concept, which was recently announced by Chairman of the Board of Management at BMW AG, Dr. Norbert Reithofer, as approved for production, serves as the design basis for the PAS crossover. The V-Series' underpinnings and engines will be based on the future 5-Series. Similar to the X6, the V-Series will be a strict 4 seater with two buckets in the rear. The V-Series is expected to launch in 2010.

Looks very attractive...To me this type of vehicle would serve more of a purpose than getting a small (other than storage space) SUV because you would mot only have the low center of gravity but also the necessary ground clearance when you have to go on rough or snowy terrain.

You're right, and X5 owners will surely be seduced by this "PAS"!

I think that BMW's idea of crossovers, four door coupes etc. have gotten too thickly embedded in their heads. Seriously, enough with trying to be unique. Seriously, they call the X5 and the X3 a "SAV" (Sports Activity Vehicle) just to sound. original. Everyone knows its a crossover. The well designed CS concept is a "four door coupe". The X6 is supposed to be some "four door coupe SUV" and now this! I think we've seen enough already. BMW should stop trying to be so unique because seriously its getting annoying. It was fine to a certain extent but now BMW should focus on improving their 'conventional' sedans, coupes and SUVs so that all of them don't have nearly identical grilles, headlights, body lines etc..A

I agree with F599GTB. BMW needs to quit trying to make it sound like it invented a completely new type of vehicle.

I also agree with F599GTB. And also I think they should focus on a supercar, a late response for SLR or for the upcoming SLC. BMW doesn't has anything in this segment. And I also think an M7 would be succesfull competing with S63 AMG.

This is a new vehicle from BMW, for the first time. A hatchback based on the 7 Series.

I like the look of this. BMW is apparently building an M7, but not sure if for currrent model or the next one. They are also making a lightweight supercar which will not be based on any model they currently have.
