Based on the platform of Ford’s European Mondeo, this next generation Mazda6 is expected to be an inch or so longer and just slightly wider than the current model. Engines will include a 4-cylinder making about 180 hp, and Ford’s new 3.5 liter V-6 making about 250 hp. In the future it is expected to offer a hybrid powerplant, as well as a high-performance model to replace the current Mazdaspeed 6.

Mazda currently offers the Mazda6 in a choice of body styles, including 4-door sedan, 5-door hatchback, and station wagon. While only the sedan version is being tested at this time, one can expect Mazda to offer the same range of models in this new generation.

As always, Mazda puts an emphasis on sporty looks and handling, so the new Mazda6 features wide tires and wheels, projector beam headlights, and pronounced fender flares over the front wheels.

i agree with tcair, look at the rear window. from the rear it looks like a saturn aura. too bad ford is involved with Mazda. not very zoom, zoom. i miss the days when Mazda had the sleek 929 or the "Lexus like" Millenia even the stylish MX-6.

I think there is a discrepancy between the rendered images and the official teaser picture. Take a look at the fog lamps for example.
