Modern American muscle

One of America's greatest muscle cars returns to the scene after a 35 year absence. Where Europe is going crazy reviving small cars like the Fiat 500, Trabant and Isetta, the big Detriot three have taken it upon themselves to revive their own glory days. Ford was first of course with their retro Mustang, the 'Stang never went out of production but had lost its charm a long time ago before the car's return to its roots. The Chevrolet Camaro is almost ready to join the new muscle car wars.

The new Dodge Challenger SRT8 is powered by a 425 hp (420 lb-ft torque) 6.1 liter HEMI V8 engine and is capable of low 5 second 0-60 mph times and a quarter-mile in under 14 seconds. Impressive stuff but will it stand the test of time and become a classic like its predecessor? The initial run of 6,400 units is bound to sell out fast at USD 37,995.
