About a week before Christmas, a first glimpse of the new Mercedes GLK could be found on a video taken on the set of 'Sex and the City', preceded by some revealing photos taken on that same movie-set. Which seems to have been the cue Mercedes was waiting for to launch the official information of their new GLK SUV piece by piece.

Now to finalise the Mercedes Vision GLK Freeside Concept information which will debut at the 2008 NAIAS in Detroit we can bring you the offical video. The more compact (k stand for Kompaktheit in German) GL is based on the new C-Class and will make its 'production' debut at the Beijing Motor Show this coming April. Actual production is said to start in 2009.

Fine style. Way better than X3 in my opinion.

A "way better" than the X3, yes, a long way better. Only some details at the headlamps disturb the perfection.

i would say daimler copied a few cues from the x3. the shape is nearly identical yet very german like. probably going to be very popular in European market with the diesel engines. US market, maybe.

X3 sucks. Don´t compare a x3 to any car, its to ungly. Anyway i thing the style is to little.
