Press Release

Mazda has reportedly produced 800,000 Roadsters as of Jan. 30, 2007. The automaker says this company milestone was achieved 17 years and nine months after vehicle production initially commenced in April 1989. In May 2000, after producing 531,890 units, the Roadster was hailed as the world's top selling lightweight, open-top, two-seat sports car by Guinness World Records of the UK. Mazda officials say that since they have achieved a new sales level, they are reapplying with the Guinness organization for an updated record. The first video contains driving footage and a demonstration of the power retractable hard top. The second page contains interior footage of the MX-5.
