Press Release
By presenting the first desirable electric vehicle at the 2004 Paris Motorshow, Venturi created on the one hand a new segment, that of the electric sports car, and on the other hand carried an extremely positive message for the future of the automobile, composed of high performance and driving pleasure.
On a 2-year trip around the world, Fétish widely changed the public’s opinion about the electric vehicle while positioning Venturi among the most accomplished technological companies in the world in terms of mobility.
Today, thanks to its experience and mastery of ultra-modern technologies, Venturi presents the production version of Fétish, the most successful and safest electric car ever produced.
MASTERY OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS
Entirely made of carbon fiber, Fétish has used the best available technologies from the aeronautics sector to create an extraordinary car.
Completely run by microprocessors, its design has been centered on enhancing pleasurable driving sensations and facility of use.
Thanks to the experience accumulated by Venturi with the pre-series vehicles, the performances of Fétish are synonymous with safety and reliability, essential elements in a car using spearhead technologies.
THE ARCHITECTURE OF A RACING CAR
With the engine ideally placed in the rear central position with a carbon monocoque chassis, the Fétish architecture is comparable to that of a racing car. Thanks to a constant 220 Nm torque its last generation 180 kW induction engine ensures gentle or strong acceleration depending on the driver’s requirements.
Venturi’s highly innovative approach meant a complete change in cultural direction, the evolution from the traditional sports car to a noiseless electric sports car, as well as a radical change in technological references, placing the battery, not the engine, at the epicenter of the automobile’s technological advancement and performance.
Since 2004, Fétish took advantage of major technological evolutions.
MASS BATTERIES
Fétish has made a technological leap forward: for its batteries, it goes from artisanal manufacturing to production which is henceforth mastered, mass and secure. Today, Venturi uses last-generation Lithium Ion batteries (Venturi LIV-7) with liquid cooling.
30% lighter, they have reduced the total weight of Fétish by 100 kg (980 kg), while improving its energy yield. Venturi LIV-7 batteries come with a 2-year guarantee, have a life-cycle estimated at 2000 cycles and more than 10 years.
A CHASSIS DESIGNED FOR BATTERY INTEGRATION
The 1st chassis specifically designed to integrate a considerable volume of batteries, the carbon monocoque developed by Venturi is an exceptional cell of protection for its occupants; the monocoque is complemented by two deformable cells in aluminium, positioned at the front and rear of the vehicle.
It is this same ultra-rigid design that ensures the integrity of the battery pack in the event of an accident and which provides a level of safety never before attained in an electric vehicle for its passengers. With the same aim, the central unit of the Venturi Fétish was designed and tested so that it would not produce any electromagnetic emissions.
A SPORTS CAR’S PERFORMANCE
The engine’s 180 kW (disconnectable anti-skid) combined with roadholding quality derived from the Venturi Atlantique 300 and large tires of 265 at the rear make the Fétish a homogeneous sports vehicle in terms of both roadholding and exceptional drivability. By providing acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in under 5 seconds and exemplary roadholding, Fétish is thus a true sports car.
Furthermore, Fétish offers a range of 250 km and a fast complete recharge in 1 hour (under 30 kW three-phase) and in 3 hours with a standard grid thanks to its onboard charger.
ELECTRONICS OF THE DIGITAL ERA
As of 2007, Fétish benefits from brand new electronic management. The first car of the digital era, it is capable of optimizing the energy it uses and connects via WiFi to ensure its maintenance.
THE DESIGN OF FETISH, BY SACHA LAKIC
Sacha Lakic, designer of Fétish, presents his work as conceived to demonstrate that there is an exciting alternative to the petrol engine.
This playful and innovative alternative respects the very essence of the automobile tradition - rarity, character and passion -, as well as the world around us.
Most of the key elements of the Fétish style are found on the final car with the same authenticity today:
- Smooth and delicate front wings, evoking front car briskness and agility while paying tribute to certain cars of the 1950s;- Generous and sensual curves underlining the rear strength;
- Pinching of the sides and recessing of the doors, leaving a large part of the chassis visible when the doors are closed.
COMMERCIAL INFORMATION
- Handmade and built by order in the Principality of Monaco for an exclusive and avant-garde clientele, the Venturi Fétish is reserved for the very limited number of 25 buyers in the world.
- Fétish is offered first and foremost in Tokyo, Los Angeles, Monte Carlo, Paris, London and Dubai.
- The sale price of the Venturi Fétish is 297,000 euros + VAT, with a 4-month construction wait.
- It is guaranteed 2 years (spares, labour and batteries).
- At the end of their life-cycle, the recycling of batteries is taken care of by Venturi.
- Venturi proposes recharge solutions in turn-key renewable energies.
- The Fétish version of the " complete panoramic" windscreen is a special order, presented for the 1st time at the Paris Motorshow 2006.
