Following an earlier leak , Renault has staged the world premiere of its brand new TALISMAN mid-size sedan.

It serves as a replacement for both the aging Laguna and Latitude by bringing an entirely different exterior & interior design along with the CMF platform that comes with numerous benefits. In terms of dimensions, the TALISMAN is 4.85 meters long, 1.87 meters wide and 1.46 meters tall, with a 2.81-meter wheelbase and a 608-liter trunk capacity with the 60:40-split rear bench in position.

Up front it comes with a generous grille flanked by a sleek pair of full LED headlights and C-shaped LED daytime running lights that extend down to the bumper while the side profile has a prominent shoulder line along with glossy pillars and chrome framing for the windows. The rear end is what makes the TALISMAN look distinctive thanks to those sleek LED taillights which have a 3D effect and remain on at all times to make the car stand out.

Stepping inside, it takes cues from the Espace and offers more than 25 liters of stowage space spread throughout the cabin. Renault mentions the 262 mm rear knee room is one of the best in this segment while headroom stands at 855mm. As for those sitting in the front, they get to enjoy 10-way adjustable seats with heated cushions and backs, along with a massage function and six memorized positions.

Entry-level versions will have a 4.2-inch central display, but those who opt for the upper-spec models will get a larger 8.7-inch touchscreen display part of the R-Link 2 infotainment system which will work with a Bose surround sound system with 13 loudspeakers.

The Renault TALISMAN will be available with TCe 150 and TCe 200 turbocharged gasoline engines working only with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The diesel range will include a dCi 110 and a dCi 130 that both can be linked to a 6-speed manual or the 7-speed dual-clutch. There will also be a dCi 160 twin-turbodiesel working only with a 6-speed dual-clutch.

Upon launch it will be available in a flagship Initiale Paris version which will be visually distniguishable thanks to the unique Amethyste Black metallic paint, bespoke 19-inch wheels, specific exterior & interior badging and extra touches inside like the Nappa full-grain upholstery, Nappa-wrapped steering wheel, laminated side windows, exclusive carpet mats and a specific Initiale Paris hands-free card.
