The highly anticipated 2015 Jaguar XE has been spied conducting last-minute testing ahead of an imminent reveal.
Jaguar's upcoming baby sedan is set on to compete with the German trio (3-Series, A4, C-Class) and will use the newly developed lightweight iQ[Al] platform. Power will come from a wide variety of efficient 4-cylinder Ingenium engines together with a V6 3.0-liter motor and even a V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine in a rumored XER-S variant unleashing 542 bhp (404 kW).
There's not much to talk in terms of design as the XE will take many styling cues from its larger XF and XJ brothers, including a sculpted hood, LED-infused headlights and a prominent front grille. We also notice a sloping roofline, aerodynamic side skirts and a high-positioned trunk.
Chances are Jaguar will decide to show the XE in early October at the Paris Motor Show, before starting sales approximately a year from today.
