A report issued by Bloomberg indicates Lancia will axe the Delta later this year while the Voyager will have the same faith in 2015.
Fiat has already announced Lancia will become an Italy-only affair and now a source close to the company told Bloomberg that by 2016 only the Ypsilon will be commercialized. Sales of the Delta will end in the months to come while the Voyager will be terminated in 2015 when Chrysler will stop rebadging cars for Lancia.
This strategy of slapping a Lancia badge on Chrysler models hasn't worked as last year sales went down by 20 percent. Ian Fletcher, an analyst with IHS in London, says Fiat is not killing Lancia right away because they still want to keep options open and wait until other models reach the market to fill the gap. Lancia could be axed entirely if Alfa Romeo's strategy will be a success.
