Launched in Kuwait

Lexus has launched a special "Supercharger" edition of the LX 570 in Kuwait which as you would imagine brings a supercharger kit.

Under the hood it's the same V8 5.7-liter engine but instead of the standard 383 bhp (286 kW) output it now develops 450 bhp (335 kW), still less than Hennessey's version which offers 500 bhp (373 kW). The engine is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission transferring power to those 20-inch alloy wheels. Performance figures have not been released but it should be a few tenths of a second slower than the tuned LX 570 which needs 6.6 seconds until 60 mph (96 km/h).

The special edition LX 570 has received xenon headlights with LED low-beams, power tailgate, front & rear parking sensors and satellite navigation. Also inside the cabin there's a Mark Levinson sound system, heated & cooled front seats, leather upholstery and a wood trim.

Already available in Kuwait, the Lexus LX 570 Supercharger could reach other Gulf markets in the near future.

As this is a factory fresh vehicle(not done by an aftermaket workshop like Henessey)from Lexus, and what I believe is their first Supercharged car, why don't they upgrade most of their engine to a force-fed version of their existing line up. A turbocharge GS/LS is a worthy competitor to any of their European rivals. And not just for Kuwait but for the rest of the world too. I always believe Lexus's only downside is their aging powertrain. They got the chasis, interior and I personally thought of design to be rather competitive

Don't think it's the first, there was the first-gen TTE IS200 Kompressor iirc. But I concur with the rest of your points, would personally just like some more subtlety in the bodykits. Look a bit chintzy to me lately.

True, but this chassis is pretty old if I'm not mistaken - you can almost tell its shape is almost identical to the Land Cruiser Amazon
