Pricing starts at $22,790

Honda has released some new details about the 2014 Civic Si Coupe and Civic Si Sedan.

First up, the coupe has a redesigned exterior with a new front bumper, a rear diffuser and a trunk-mounted spoiler. The model also receives larger 18-inch alloy wheels.

Interior changes are limited but there's additional standard equipment including Smart Entry (with a push button ignition), Honda LaneWatch and a Display Audio system with a 7-inch touchscreen display.

Under the hood, both models are powered by a 2.4-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that has been equipped with a new exhaust system. Thanks to this modification, the engine develops 205 bhp (152 kW) and 174 lb-ft (235 Nm) of torque - an increase of 4 bhp (3 kW) and 4 lb-ft (5 Nm) of torque.

Both models also receive a retuned suspension with higher rate springs, new dampers and a stiffer rear stabilizer bar.

The 2014 Civic Si Coupe will go on sale tomorrow and U.S. pricing starts at $22,790. The Civic Si Sedan will go on sale on March 26th and carry a base price of $22,990.

Also standard on the 2014 Si is the convenient Smart Entry with Push Button start, expanded view driver's mirror and Honda LaneWatch™ display for enhanced driver visibility.

A 2.4 liter engine a bit big for a small car like a civic. Why not developing a small turbo charged engine like the one on the Veloster? A 1.6 turbo with 200 hp is a suitable engine for the Si

It's being developed or already is. It'll be used in other models first most likely. Honda is better about not rushing product to market to ensure reliability as well as maximizing the use of it's out-going engines. The earth dreams turbo will probably be in the FMC or maybe the ILX first, not this MMC (maybe in the CR-V or RDX). The interior of the current SI is actually quite nice. It doesn't pretend to be some kind of fake luxury car like other brands out there. The refreshed exterior is a blunder. It looks like a friggin Hyundai Tiburon. The outgoing design looks MUCH better.

Yes, honda civic for the states is one junky product. Looks like 2005ish on the outside, and the inside, well, we must change the century back to XX to be competitive in that class.

have you sat inside the SI? have you compared it to the interior of the 2005? The fit, finish, and material are above it's competition. The interior design of "this" class is full of posers.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/114031271621/civic-type-r-fans-sign-petition-asking-honda-to-bring-it this is a proper 2014 edition of a honda civic sport car. Inside and outside...For that Si crap looking interior, echange the satnav and the full digital screen with 1990s equipemnt and everything else will look just like a car from that era...Look at Honda Prelude for example.
