Celebrates the year of the horse

BMW has announced plans to offer an M5 and M6 Gran Coupe Horse Edition in China.

Designed to celebrate the year of the horse, the special editions have been equipped with embroidered headrests that have the Chinese character for "horse" on them.

The special editions also come with the Competition Package that enables the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine to produce 575 HP (423 kW). The package also includes a sportier suspension, a sports exhaust system, an Active M Differential and 20-inch M light-alloy wheels.

I'd buy the RS6 plus. They put all of the extra horses under the hood and not on the headrests. ROFL.

So if having embroidered headrest will make it a special edition, then I will make a custom headrest for my car with GRAVE word embroidered on them and call it GRAVE special edition.

So the only difference with these models is the horse embroidery? And, how much up-charging is BMW doing for such a rarity?

If I was in China I'd gallop down to my local BMW dealer and make a stable investment.

No, BMW dealers encountered huge difficulties in China last year.

Thanks Adrian! I was tempted to regurgitate it for that latest 7-series Horse edition article, but I think I'll leave it be :)
