Winter testing in Scandinavia

A prototype of the next-gen Kia Sorento was spied undergoing cold winter testing in Scandinavia, prior to an expected 2015 market launch.

Two prototypes were spotted at a gas station getting a refill and according to our sources the mid-size SUV will grow in size compared to the current model and will be a few centimeters longer. Some of the added length will be in the wheelbase so the 2015 Sorento will provide more space inside the cabin, particularly for rear passengers who will benefit from additional legroom. In these spy photos we also notice a portion of the Sorento's taillight graphics.

As far as engines are concerned, Kia will most likely bump output of the 2.4-liter GDi and 3.3-liter V6 GDi engines and will probably introduce a hybrid version which will be available from day one.

And for certain markets, like Europe, South Korea, and Australia, the 2.2-litre CRDi will be offered. In the 5th image, the vehicle looks substantially lower than the gentleman stood adjacent. Such a height reduction is leading me to believe this prototype is something else.
