To be exhibited at NAIAS next month

New photos and details have emerged about the AMG Line version of the recently unveiled 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The AMG Line Exterior Pack can be considered as the next best thing for those who can't pay extra for the fully-fledged C63 AMG version which according to the latest rumors will be introduced towards the end of next year.

The exterior package encompasses an AMG front bumper, front apron, mesh grille, side skirts and aluminum window surrounds. Also noticeable are the chrome inserts, updated rear bumper and a chromed lower front lip. In addition, the C-Class AMG Line comes with exclusive five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels and benefits from a 15mm lowered sports suspension.

Other goodies include uprated perforated brakes with the Mercedes-Benz lettering on the calipers, along with a different dual exhaust system integrated into the rear bumper.

The 2014 C-Class will be exhibited in January at NAIAS in Detroit.

WCF is the best site for automotive news, but you have to do something with the awkward and non efficient photo viewer. it's just not at the class one would anticipate from such fine site.

I remember when a C Class was a C Class - now however I'd say this is more of an E Class SWB!

What really annoys me is that most of the these "AMG" versions here in Europe are just plain, boring diesel 220 CDI's. Complete turnoff.

Of course, even though the RL came out before this, people would say the RL is a copy of this and not the other way around. Kind like how the last C-Class coupe was a dead ringer for the Accord coupe. Fortunately, only companies like Hyundai-Kia copy other people's designs (sarcasm flag:on).

The package looks great, but it would be great if, as someone has mentioned before, they tweak the exhaust note to that of an amg character.

It's just an expression of preference, why downvote it ? You can have your automatics, nobody objects to that. By the way, are you aware that a lot of hardcore sports cars like 911/Corvette/M3-4 can still be bought with a manual gearbox ?

Maybe on a normal C-class but i don't think anyone would be able to handle a manual fully AMG merc, that would be like trying to take a two headed monsters from resident evil out for a walk.

I don't know why people are downvoting you. I would def want this to be a manual. Not a paddle, but standard manual. Gated would be hot too.
