I get lined up allot at the stop light with my 997( plain looking meteor grey sleeper 3.8 supercharged, thanks VF E ) my Chally ( Chally more so..people love the Hemi Orange I gues lol) and they want to race....I admit freely the speed rush and taking out a corvette or z car or a Camero is hard to resist and I do it...I feel bad when I do and always wonder about the guy I am beating, crashing or running into someone and I am to blame because I DID race him...I don't think this is the case here but the pedal and the power does strange things to your mind and adreneline..I wish it didn't ...I am glad I read these horrible facts of life like this story if only it is self serving to me and makes me think twice about racing someone on a busy street..I hope I don't kill someone and look forward to the day when it dosent inspire me to punch it..and race and kill someone! Let's hope this tragedy makes us all think 1 more time before doing it....

Driving witnesses blame the car from going out of control, where out nowhere giving a sudden Bronco convulsion in a sideway-form before heading for the disastrous accident. I hope Porsche is not suffering the Ferrari fate of instant combustion. Paul, we are really going to miss you with that carefree attitude and that magnetic, friendly smile.

When a Vehicle is severed in half because of a huge impact there is nothing that can keep from fuel lines, tanks etc from catching fire. The ferrari and Tesla situation is entirely of a different nature, these are intact road worthy vehicle catching fire.

I just don't think this would have happened if Paul was the driver.

I just can't get over this. Such a tragedy. He was a car nut and a very cool guy who did a lot of good. Really, hits home how a moment of pushing your luck (we've all done it) can have devastating consequences. Thoughts are with his family and friends. R.I.P to both :(

RIP to Both. I don't understand from the pictures, it looks like the tree sliced the car in half... I would think the carbon fibre car was strong enough from the impact especially from a tree.

very sad. sounds like a couple of great guys, that did a lot of good.. made a very poor judgement call and paid with their lives. i think just about everyone that has been behind the wheel would acknowledge they did something very unsafe and stupid behind the wheel of a car and realized they could have been killed. every so often, someone is unlucky.. seems paul and roger fell victim to one of those unfortunate moments. sad, and a tragic shame… i wish their families all the strength they will need.

Paul Walker's death was a misadventure. His case was quite similar to James Dean, that they both die in a Porsches from a different era. They're also Hollywood celebrities, whose their pastime are motor racing. As a saying goes, 'Live fast, Die Young'. Poor old Paul. R.I.P

They said figure 8 marks were there I didn't see them in YouTube vid but maybe further up street and maybe doing them the tires caught traction or a manhole cover or who knows and hooked up unexpectedly and he over corrected..if you have done donuts or 8s and I'm no expert when I've tried them they can be scary if you get over correcting or that hook up feeling and the car darts on you

it could be that it happends like you say, its really scary to loose control even in a strong car like this but the driver had experience.... maybe something unlucky happend and they wehre just too fast to correct after first crash with street light

It's just hard to think that we have lost a person like Paul Walker. I still remember the good memories of the first Fast and the Furious and how it opened up the motor world for me. RIP Brian...
