To be unveiled tomorrow

A WCF reader has sent us several official images of the upcoming BMW M235i Coupe.

We've seen the M235i Coupe earlier this week at a dealership presentation but today we bring official and more revealing photos of the model which show all the details of the first ever M-flavored 2-Series. The 1,470 kg (3,240 lbs) coupe looks more evolved and refined than its recently phased out predecessor (1-Series Coupe) and also distance itself (in a good way) from the facelifted hatchback.

The BMW M235i Coupe will adopt the same powertrain as its hot hatchback sibling, the M135i, a turbocharged straight-six 3.0-liter engine producing 322 bhp (240 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. When mated to the automatic gearbox, the car will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds while the manual-equipped model needs 5 seconds.

BMW will fully reveal the 2-Series Coupe tomorrow so stay tuned for additional info as they will probably show the M-infused version as well.

Special thanks go to eightythird for sending us the pics!

So will they make an M2 in the future? If so, what engine will it use? Probably the same but with more boost, I guess? They *have* to make an M2 to continue the legacy of the M1, err, I mean the 1M. They could have made the M235i a bit more hardcore and named it the M2--considering it is nearly as powerful as the 1M--but the fact they didn't points to the almost definite possibility that an M2 will be made in the future. I am guessing around 360 hp from the same N55 engine. Later, when the 1-series sedan comes out, they could also do a 360 hp 1M, which would give the A45 AMG a run for its money!

If only the 1 series could also get a propoer good looking front. This is nice, what if the 3 series also looked like this? Even better.

FFS so they managed to fix the pig nose off the M135i and then go and stuff up the rear lights? What the hell is wrong over at BMW design studios?
