BMW M235i Coupe live shot from dealer presentation

Live pictures of the upcoming BMW M235i Coupe have surfaced online after being shot at a recent dealership presentation. It shows the model in its full glory from the front, front three-quarter and side positions.

As expected, the coupe shares a similar front end to its M135i sibling while the rear takes a sportier and more unique sloping coupe roofline.

Under the hood lies a 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine with 322hp (240kW,326PS) and 450Nm (332lb-ft) of torque. Coupled with the automatic transmission system and a dry weight of 1470kg, the M235i can hit 100kph (62mph) from standstill in 4.8 seconds. The manual tranmission takes an additional 0.2 seconds.

The BMW 2-Series Coupe will launch in the spring of 2014.

UPDATE 23rd October: An interior image has now surfaced from the event giving a first unobstructed look inside the cabin as well as an image showing more of the rear end

I'm glad this doesn't have the side 'vents' like the 4-series does.

engine sucks. 3.0 litres turbocharged six cylinders with only 330hp, while MB did better with a 2.0 turbocharged 4 cylinders on the A450 AMG with 360hp

If you think a engine is better just because it has more power then you should leave this forum. This engine does 410hp in the Alpina b3... It's only a matter of how high you want to tune the engine, which with turbochargers is very easy.

I find that straight line along the front of the bonnet (where the lid opens) - quite ugly - almost like a design that has not been thought out completely.

This is good, this is the first time that I see an entry-level BMW that actually looks good. The 1st generation 1er (coupe, hatch and convertible) took some getting used to visually for me. The latest 1er, well, the majority of comments speak for themselves but this, this looks very good.

", the coupe shares an identical front end to its M135i sibling". Am I missing something here? The front end looks very different to the 1 series unless I am not seeing straight

With all due respect, I think it looks virtually identical to the M135i, but obviously different to the standard 1-series as you are suggesting. M135i pic: http://content.worldcarfans.co/2012/5/14/medium/17913102341896431491.jpg

Respects are nice, but seriously... Even if you close one eye, you should see that details on front bumper are different, bit more like the proper M, but most important is the NEW front fascia. Lights, kidneys, whole frontend is much better, then in regular 1 series. I like IT :)

Even my seeing eye dog says these two are nowhere near to being "virtually identical"
