Mercedes CLA45 AMG Black Series gets rendered
Mercedes CLA45 AMG Black Series Rendering 20.9.2013 / Anton Gjorsev

Entry-level BS

The Mercedes CLA45 AMG has already attracted a lot of attention, so Anton Gjorsev decided to envision what a CLA45 AMG Black Series would look like.

Looking almost production ready, the rendering shows a sporty sedan which has been equipped with an aggressive body kit that includes modified bumpers, widened fenders and extended side skirts. We can also see high-performance brakes and carbon fiber canards that echo the SLS AMG Black Series.

Mercedes has been coy about the possibility of an MFA-based Black Series, but it's possible that engineers could coax a few extra horsepower from the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that normally develops 360 HP (265 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.

Don't catch: a rendering which is production ready?! Benz has reached 180CV/L and I do think, by reaching their reliability standards which shall be high. Usually, BS get a significant boost. Customers are not paying an extra only for a more aggressive look. Now the key point would be to know if this hypothetic release could start competing in the same territory than an upper class variant....

The idea of a CLA Black Series is awesome, but Im not really sure how much more power can be coaxed out of it. Maybe a high flow exhaust and intake n lil more boost. Id say better to focus on suspension and brakes. Oh and of course "add lightness"

I hope they make this car...and I hope it gets a twin turbo 3.0 V6. This would fit in nicely with the new 4.0 litre twin turbo AMG engine for larger cars.

They can do it by stroking the engine to 2.3L but it has enough power for its size. It needs weight reduction, 100 kg at least.
