Hyundai has introduced the 2014 i10 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Looking instantly recognizable, the redesigned model has a fluidic sculpture design with a stylish front fascia that incorporates sweptback headlights and a prominent air intake. The hatchback also has a sloping roofline, an upward sweeping greenhouse and 13- to 15-inch wheels.

Compared to its predecessor, the 2014 i10 is 80mm longer, 65mm wider and 40mm lower. The wheelbase has also been extended by 5mm to 2385mm.

Hyundai paid close attention to improving the interior and it shows as the model has higher quality materials and an improved design. Entry-level models are sparsely equipped but higher-end variants can be ordered with power windows / locks, automatic climate control and heated front seats.  Regardless of what trim is ordered, the boot holds up to 1046 liters (36.9 cubic feet) of luggage when the rear seats are folded down.

In Europe, the i10 will be offered with three different engines:

  • A 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol with 66 HP (48 kW) and 94 Nm (69 lb-ft) of torque
  • A 1.0-liter three-cylinder bi-fuel with 67 HP (49 kW) and 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque (on LPG)
  • A 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol with 87 HP (64 kW) and 120 Nm (88 lb-ft) of torque

Depending on which engine is selected, it can be paired to a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission.
