Due at next year's Paris Motor Show

The next generation of the Citroën C1 was spied recently testing in southern Europe.

We weren't sure if the previous spy photos with the car were showing the next-gen C1 or its French brother, the Peugeot 107, but after checking out the license plate we found out it's a prototype of the C1 powered by a small 1.0-liter gasoline engine. The car seen here was spotted somewhere in southern Europe and our sources have informed us the wheelbase was longer in comparison to the current model.

Despite the heavy camo, it is believed the new C1 will adopt a considerably more attractive and modern design. It should be officially revealed approximately a year from now at the 2014 Paris Motor Show before going on sale shortly after that as a 2015MY.

They've still got the single wiper. It just needs a bit more space, a bit more power than the current engine and a bit more soundproofing to return to the top of the class. Note how far back the windscreen is on this compared to the Twingo. It looks like the Twingo will have class leading interior space
