Former Caterham boss Ansar Ali has managed to obtain sufficient funding to develop the Zenos E10 sports car.
Ansar Ali will use a platform similar in size with the Lotus Elise with power coming from a mid-mounted 2.0-liter Ford HE420 Duratec engine delivering 197 bhp (147 kW). Ali believes the E10 will tip the scales at only 650 kg (1,433 lbs) which would give the car a power-to-weight ratio of 296 bhp / ton.
The bodywork will be built around an aluminum tubular chassis with the tub and body made from recycled carbon sheets. The E10 will be out sometime next year as a competitor for the Caterham Seven 620R, KTM X-Bow and the VUHL 05. An open-top E11 variant is planned for a 2016 release, followed by the E12 coupe which will be launched two years later.
