Debuts next week at IAA

[update] Additional pictures added.

Jaguar has posted the first photo with the C-X17 concept which will be shown in the metal at the Frankfurt Motor Show starting next week.

We only get a front view of the car which doesn't hold any surprises as the styling cues are taken from recent Jaguar models but oversized a bit to match the crossover body style. We notice the large front grille and generous air intakes, while from the teaser photo posted several days ago we found out there will be a tailgate-mounted spoiler, sloping roofline and F-Type-inspired taillights.

The production version will ride on the new PLA - Premium Lightweight Architecture which will also underpin the BMW 3-Series-rivaling XS. Jaguar describes the concept as a design study which introduces a "highly-advanced, modular aluminum architecture". More details will be disclosed on Monday once the car gets its official debut.

I almost called it a "four door shooting brake" but it looks more like a stylish station wagon. Nice shape, though.

Looking good. Judging from recent designs from other automakers, it's not easy designing an appealing small suv. But Jag seemed to have done it!

Nice! They went with a bit moderate profile, nothing extravagant but elegant and interesting. It is not a love it or hate it car and should be appealing to a wider clientele base. I like it as an SUV although you can't consider it a breakthrough SUV design and I might have had slightly different expectations. But with this one they don't only go head to head with Maserati Levante, but also provide an alternative to Q7, X6 and the FX Infinity. Should be a good product!

Fantastic! The front quarter view don't do it justice, but the sideview on this new pics, wow! This is a very nice car, and also the back, great design! If this will be RR Sport size, it will win me over any german rival, hope they stick to this concept in production in every way!

Dear BMW, please take note, here's how to make a good looking SUV. Now take your pig ugly X3 back to the drawing board

You have to wonder why Porsche cannot design a good looking SUV after seeing this one. Among the premium SUV's (excluding Land/ Range Rovers) - this has to be the best looking.

I like it so far, the front looks appealing. It would be nice to have another alternative in the cross-over segment.
